Considering the options there, ND is in a pretty favourable spot. There is talk that Washington is the leader. A ND v. Washington battle isn't something that transpires often.

Dylan Robinson last year. Kyler Gordon in '18, but I cant recall if ND was the definite runner-up.
Runner up but he left UW last because he didn't want to leave the state, Notre Dame he visited right before and only chance we had is if he committed while on the visit and cancelled UW.

We've probably lost more recruiting battles against Washington than we've won in recent memory. But almost every single recruit has been from the West Coast so they have a built-in advantage when we're the last two programs standing

His home town is 1,000 miles from Seattle and UW now plays almost half their games in the Midwest, while we play SC and Stanford every year. Tough to say they are the “local” option.

Yet another recruit ND is trending away for.

hopefully he ends up at UCLA and not Penn State
Just get him on campus for that official visit and let things run their course.

I don't know why he would even visit at this point with 2 RBs committed, unless he can play DT
😂😂, but he's an AP back who has played WR early in his career. He can be used as a Utility guy early in his career and return man. RB position always has plenty turnover and injuries.

Pretty sure it’s fair to assume that is no longer happening. It’s Walton and Osborne.

He no longer mentions ND on his visit schedule and is not mentioned in the above.
The world of recruiting where anything can happen...maybe he wants to go to UCLA and be "the guy", or likes UW doesn't have much but he's not going to be the every down back in any case, almost all schools these days use multiple backs.

Okay. But Brian Bonner isn’t going to visit ND, because we just landed two RBs.

That’s really the whole story lol.

If you are a top 10/15 RB, and a school has already accepted commitments from 2 other highly rated RBs, in what world do you put yourself into that? Also, if you're a highly rated RB you probably want some NIL, do you think ND would commit to market value for 3 highly rated RBs?

Also bad for ND to take 3 studs in one year.. why would a 2027 RB want to come?

I mean we took about 2-3 studs every year for 6-7 years when Holtz was coaching and a couple years with Davie, granted its a different time but RB is a position where you need multiple bodies and you have to account for injuries.

Well that's understandable if the back is in the same mold as Walton/Osborne but Bonner is completely different with versatility and an AP back. It's like when we took Tony Brooks, Greg Davis and Ricky Watters in '87 all top 10 backs but we used Watters at both RB and WR. I think Bonner could be used in a lot of the same ways considering he has played RB for all of one season so far and used more as a wideout for 2 years. In this era its also understandable that he might wanna go somewhere and be more of a focal point but its not unheard of for school to sign multiple top 10 recruits at a position just look at 'Bama at several positions, Georgia at RB and OSU at WR over the past several years.

Three RB. How many schools in the NIL era signed three top 15 RBs.

*when the coach was hired mid recruiting cycle and has a room w/ 4 - projected 6 now - RBs with multi year eligibility past 2026.
