What you once again fail to comprehend is this. This is about people assimilating to the culture and laws of the country they migrate to. Muslims want to implement Sharia law and ignore the laws of the country. However, it appears many more share the same opinion. I'm seeing government officials in UK, Germany and another come out and speak against the Muslim communities not only unwilling to adapt to the culture and laws of the country, but wanting to instill their culture, laws and religion as the primary. Stopping traffic to pray in the street is okay? Using loudspeakers to chant is okay? Not sure why you think it's okay to do that and ignore the culture and laws of the country.
If you think it's just the extremist doing this, then there must be a lot of extremist. Why do they need to conduct marches and protests if they don't want to change the laws? Some of these are Muslims telling you what their intent it.

Plenty of protests or rallies shut down traffic all the time. Here's a few examples of Nazi rallies in the US, apparently there was 34 rallies held in the US last year.

No, I don't want any religion (Jewish, Hindu, take your pick of any Christian religion) trying to force theirs upon me or anyone else. I have stated that before. I don't see religious leaders calling for everyone to be converted to their religion and holding marches all the time to justify their position. I don't see these same leaders calling for women to be fully clothed and be required to wear a Hijab. I don't see these leaders saying it's okay to have sex with children. I don't see these leaders suppressing women and their rights. That's not the culture of the countries they are moving to.
You've conveniently labeled all of those who are pushing Sharia law as extremist. Are those that pray in the street or chant over a loudspeaker extremist? Are those that are marching for Islam extremist?

This is NOT true and ignores the cultural barriers for many immigrant groups (namely the Irish and Italians) when they did arrive that kept them at an arms length from actually assimilating. The Irish, specifically Irish Catholics, were seen as sub-human and un-American by major political movements in this country until the early to mid 20th century. You are literally on a football message board that's team carriers a moniker that is due, in some part, to the push back against those views.

1) Yes - If they follow the law then sure. If they don't follow the law, then law enforcement can arrest/prosecute as they would any other person.
2) Yes? I see plenty of protests all the time in the city. I am pretty numb to loud speakers. Our Jewish neighborhood was gridlock during the high holy days. I didn't freakout, even though it was destroying the traffic for an extremely important area.
3) Not assimilating is a wide definition. My expectations are that immigrants who come to my country follow the law. If they do not follow the law, then they should be dealt with through the legal system. I don't need to thought police them and make sure that they're adhering to my personal belief system. Since I live in a similarly multicultural nation I understand that there are going to be people who have different belief systems, so as long as they're following the law it's not my place to say they should be removed or jailed. Just like my positions on things like healthcare, I advocate for everyone to have access to adequate healthcare not just those who are progressive.
Like I've mentioned before, you harkening back to the ole days without specific examples of what you liked about those immigrants is tough to interpret.

Lastly - the thing that made and makes the US so great is that it isn't unform in it's culture or identity or religion. It has so many different types of people that allowed it to be the dominant super power. People want to live in the US because of the opportunity for success isn't as limited to your skin color or religion like it is so many other places. I find it incredibly ironic that the people who think that world conflicts can be solved by the people who live in the country to just move, but when they get upset about their own country it's "well not me!".

Ehhhh... Rose colored glasses that are hindsight 20/20 really. There were still over 500 German language newspapers in the US during the outbreak of WWI. I have friends who had grandparents that still spoke Polish and Lithuanian in the household. Italians and Irish didn't assimilate, if they did they would have become WASPy to blend in; instead their cultures were eventually picked up by the country... like the opposite of assimilation, absorption.
It typically takes 2-4 generations to assimilate.

Yep. Born right around the end of the USSR and have a few friends whose parents were Belarussian/Russian and there was not a lick of english being spoken in those houses. There's still pretty large events that they organize and run for these communities, some of them are pretty sympathetic to Putin too which is pretty despicable. You won't hear about them though because, you know.

There was a German language paper in ND as late as 1990. WW1 era would be prime era for adult German immigrants and their kids I think.
My grandma is second generation American (German), she knows less German than I do. She wasn't allowed to speak or learn it I guess. Parents wanted American kids.
Im very pleased the continental immigrants resisted WASPy nonsense. The episcopalians and presbyterians are dying out.

You're missing the point. I'm not talking about generations assimilating. I don't care if there are still German newspapers. There are German, Italian, Mexican, Greek Orthodox, etc. festivals in Indy every year and we go to several every year. The Muslim community just held their first one this year.
I'm fine with other nationalities maintaining their customs. It's assimilating them into our culture, not losing them. Toronto is okay with people praying in the street and causing traffic jams and praying through a loudspeaker outside someone's apartment when they're eating dinner. That's intruding IMO. They want to pray in public in a park? No problem.
My grandparents were immigrants from Germany, Macedonia and Ireland. They would speak English, but would often try to teach us a little of their language. I still remember my grandpa laughing at us as we butchered his language.

I put effort into my response to you, I answered your questioned. You just laugh reacted to me. If because through my questioning on why you have the opinions you have makes you feel like maybe those opinions aren't rooted in anything factual and just from fear porn that is pumped into your twitter algorithm maybe your anger should be directed at the people who lied to you. Two days last week my daughter had a lurking dude in the bathroom at school. School admin says use the bathroom in the office if it makes you uncomfortable b/c WCPSS official policy is to let the pervs use whatever bathroom they identify with.
