Merck said that ND was going to do more vetting of the top recruits to determine who is a true fit for ND and is genuinely open to being a true student-athlete, and after doing so, they'd pay them to seal the deal. Think of players like JaDon Blair and Madden Faraimo in last year's class. Hopefully Rodney is just the start of that for the 2026 class, when he announces in a few weeks.
