Because he reaffirmed my previously held beliefs. I also really like the nifty graphics that don’t source anything. I don’t know, I’m just a simple man who don’t like too think to much. I think HunterBidensCrackPipe1488 is just an honest broker like Cronkite.
China hack bad.

Non vetted Dogey Bros basically doing the same thing as the Chinese Government?

Billionaires fighting for the common man!

Good times.

Didn't they try to impeach Trump for holding back funds after he requested info about Hunter Biden's Ukrainian business hijinks? Maybe I'm getting my impeachments mixed up. Seems the situations are a bit similar...I'm sure someone will correct me. Trump's intentions were probably evil cause he was looking for dirt, while Biden was just trying to protect his poor, misguided son.

Yes. Yes they did.

"If you think health care is expensive now, just wait 'til it's free."
My healthcare is basically free in terms of what I pay out of pocket.

It’s not something that far out of the realm of possibility for all Americans all things considered.

Unfortunately, sending Tesla’s into space for a laugh, lighting capital to fund questionable AI tech and meme coins are all higher priorities.

I’m all for auditing military spending and slashing the budget significantly.

I can empathize on that front. The special district I currently work at requires going before the board of directors for anything over 50k. That is straight crazy town. Lol.
50k is way too low in 2025. Maybe in 2000 or something? You need to give people some latitude to go do stuff.

It's mindboggling stuff. Thank you for your patience. It's nuts. Look at us getting along lmao.

There is a ton of incentivized waste in the military budget. It will take something like DOGE or whatever to kinda expose it to the population. This is probably the best part of Trump 2.0 thus far but it should be a part of every presidency. I'm sure some of it would bug me if it was some lib but that's part of being president. Holding the keys and all that

Waste in the military must be mind boggling. Heard stories of brand new offices being ripped out and remodeled as soon as they're completed just to deplete funds to make sure next years budget doesn't shrink. Tens of thousands of rounds fired into the ground just so they can be marked as used.

If it doesn’t happen now, it’s not going to happen. The stories about $75 hammers is something I remember being reported on the news back in the 70’s. Once Trump is out I suspect things will go back to the wasteful ways and libs will be happy.

Yeah, on the west coast you basically can’t do much for under a million these days as far as public works projects go.

Anyhow, I don’t necessarily think it takes something as reckless as DOGE to reduce waste in the military for instance.

The base closures in the 80’s and 90’s via the base closure and realignment act show that it is possible to reduce waste while working within the framework set forward by the constitution and current law.

It seems to me that DOGE’s big accomplishment to date is that they have set up a ton of lawsuits and court cases that will likely drag on for years. I imagine nothing about that process will be cheap.

It will also be interesting to see what happens to say Virginias economy for if Trump does succeed in simply pulling the plug on a bunch of spending as opposed to a process that would slowly wind things down.

I think people tend to forget that all those civil servants and or government spending put a shit ton of money into various local economies.

We’ll see.

So, apparently an inspector general at US AID was investigating the use of Starlink in Ukraine. Makes sense why Musk all of a sudden got such a hardon to focus on that specific agency.

“Ukrainian submarine drones were about to rush a Russian fleet in a harbor but "lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly," Isaacson wrote in his new book titled "Elon Musk," which is due to be released next week.

Meanwhile, Musk backed up his decision, citing the dangers of triggering a "mini-Pearl Harbor" and arguing that Russia may have responded to the attack with nuclear weapon.”

His own personal assessment aside, why anyone wants someone with this much individual power running around unchecked is beyond me.

My eye doctor served after optometry school. Got new waiting room furniture *every single year* because they told him he needed to spend it.

People forget that Ukraine begged Musk to turn on Starlink for them when the war began, and he did it initially for the humanitarian effort. He lamented when he found out both sides were using it for launching attacks, Russia at first gaining unauthorized access using Ukraine assets. Ukraine also asked for Starlink to be turned on over Crimea so they could operate, but Musk refused since Russia is in control there specifically and it would violate the US sanctions on Russia. Sometimes the full picture is helpful.

I think a ton of money could be saved by getting rid of the "use or lose" funding model.
Is that how most Federal programs work?

The local agencies I’ve worked at allow you to carry funds forward as long as they are part of a larger capital project plan.

I will say that applying for federal grants is a total pain in the ass and if you’re not getting more than 2 mill or so for a capital project it’s almost not even worth it.
A lot of funding is often use or lose but also if you don’t spend X amount last year you obviously don’t need as much this year. You spend to essentially prove you need it. Kind of weird.

It's clear Musk is on the Russians side.

What’s weird is you basically not believing the excess charges and spending that occurs in the military. I’m as big a proponent of having the best military on the planet, but it doesn’t mean better controls can’t be implemented.

I saw a commercial for this guy and laughed thinking about the people that watch this show.
I get people watching him. I find him juvenile most of the time, but he's sometimes funny. What I can't comprehend is how many people watch him as their main news source. Surprisingly, lots of younger people call him their main source of news and analysis. Let that sink in for a bit and you start to understand some things a lot better.

I don't watch him other than random clips that show up on twitter here and there. But what are your credible news sources?

I watch very little TV news. I occasionally catch a clip from FOX, CNN, or even MSNBC, but I get about 95% of my news from just reading. I make sure I read stuff from both sides. I definitely don't consider a comedy show or a late night TV show or Weekend Update as news.

I personally think Patel, RFK, and Tulsi are all poor nominations. I wouldn’t vote to confirm any of them. I think all three get approved, it it’ll be interesting to see what kind of leash they are given.
Well that’s cause u have no backbone
