To confirm, Irish Envy message board isn’t making the hire (besides Mercke). Our jokes have no impact

Go back to playing with those funbags.

Not unreasonable to think a decision would take less than a few weeks. If you take forever to make a decision, the decision usually gets made. Inaction was the choice.

When you pitch a customer and they “want to think about it” you’re planning for the next customer as soon as they’re out the door. It’s almost always a no. Move on guys

Either Blanchard wants to play in the big boy pool or he doesn't. Hoping he chooses ND but if not, I'm not going to sweat it.
At this point, I’d give him till 5:00 PM tomorrow. We’ve courted him too long for this type of role and you know the compensation is considerable. He either wants to be here or doesn’t. He isn’t a coach or handling any Xs and Os, so at this point, fish or cut bait.

It's a dead period in recruiting. Honestly I don't see the problem being patient with him. Not saying let it drag on for weeks but I don't see the problem waiting

Recruiting is never a dead period. We’re potentially missing out on other candidates. We’re offering a ton of money (more than TT, I guaranty). Either hop on board or enjoy
Lubbock and a shitty, dying conference filled with glorified mid majors — last I looked, OU, Texas, A&M, Nebraska, etc weren’t there anymore.

No shit, but the board is continuing to go down hill from what it used to be because it's more like a fb fan page... lack of actual dialog

I feel like dialogue is fine during the season (if not a bit unhinged). There’s plenty of good, smart back-and-forth about the team, recruiting, etc.

This site always goes to hell between bowl season and Fall camp. We get a brief respite for the B&G game where we can seriously speculate and discuss the team again (hello CJ Carr hot takes!).

But even that is slowly being taken from us because of the changing CFB calendar and what appears to a slow professionalization of the players’ responsibilities.

There’s only so much we can discuss… I understand why we all revert to sophomoric banter that means nothing: it’s because we’re a bunch of internet nerds that have formed a community where have more than just ND football in common.

You compare it to a FB fan group. I compare it to our own football locker room. Just a bunch of dudes talking shit when there’s not much else to focus on.

TL;DR
The amount of time I spend on IE is a cry for help in the real world but I still enjoy being here

Is that how it works sales man? You sound like a master negotiator. This isn’t door to door lawncare service, bro.

The grown men in the room know what they’re doing.

Assuming what we “know” is true, he’s doing one of two things, either: 1) using his leverage to get the best deal from ND, or 2) using the ND interest to get a better deal from TT.

What other options are there?

Maybe he’s truly torn on the decision…….the best deal may be about more than money or even control especially when there is a family with 5 kids involved. We really have no idea on what is going on behind the scenes.
