Ash is being encouraged to roll his concepts into the overall approach, but at its core, this will remain a Marcus Freeman defense.

Freeman chose Ash because he fully meshes with what Freeman wants from his defense.

This defense will be more aggressive.

In terms of scheme approach specific to what you mentioned: Both

So is it kind of Freeman's view that the defense should kind of have elements of quarters and cover 1? That going forward, Freeman's ideal is to be able to play both? Because, to me, they seem like really complimentary schemes that both need strong man corners and allow the defense to bring pressure while still remaining sound, but that present very different pictures to the QB and play caller.

If Pogacar comes into the season in top form, nobody is touching him. He’s generational. Vingegaard was certainly not quite himself last year, but he simply can’t match the constant, often random bursts from Pogacar. Only Pogacar can stop Pogacar.

Unfortunately (as a Jonas fan) he's appeared to have matured. In '22 and '23 Jumbo seemed to be able to get him to do something "stupid" and could take advantage. Not sure what you can do if he rides a smart race and stays out of trouble. Might be the most dominate athlete out there right now.
