I love all pizza but my favorite is a crispy crust NY style with Xtra cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. Hard to get that in Indy.

Locally, Jacks can’t go wrong and (here comes seek Destroy) love Aunt Polly’s breadsticks. Best breadsticks ever

Pupatella (the original one in Arlington is by far the best) if you want neapolitan pizza... there is one off of Wiehle tho that will be closer to you
Tried the Merrifield location this evening with my kids. Not too good IMO. I'd say there really is no good pizza in the WDC area. Maybe Bugsy's, which is in Old Town - pretty good.

Think I’ve mentioned this before but my grandson and his parents are a mile and a half or so from this spot. Had no idea until we stopped at the gas station on Xmas eve. Believe I’m correct but fact check if wrong since there is more than one…off 69 we drive past the Ft Wayne airport not too far before getting there.

Next time we’re up best believe I’m getting at least a couple large pizzas.

Don't skimp on the toppings, get a Supreme, they load it up. I think I usually get it without green peppers though, don't care for them.

Sitting here in O’Hare after a long flight from Tokyo. What’s the best place for some Italian Beef in Terminal 3?

Unsure if you'll find Chicago Beef in O'Hare. Google tells me Galileo's at Gate B19. Terminal 1.

100% agree on spaghetti. Throw in basically any pasta that isn’t actually authentic Italian. The wife and kids love Olive Garden and I die a little inside every time we go. Luckily the salad is fine and the chicken & gnocchi soup is pretty decent.

Yup. I pretty much just get a boat of the Alfredo and just fill up on breadsticks and salad. But my lady loves that place.

Nothing better than tavern style Chicago pizza. Deep dish sucks. It’s hard to find good pizza in Indy

True. When I travel I make it a point to get their best pizza. Best I’ve had was a place called Brooklyn Pizza in Erie, PA. Don’t think that place is even open anymore

J&G's pizza in Sylvania, OH (outside Toledo). Some of the best pizza I've had.

OG? Hell, I can get behind that grub with the bread/salad/alfredo.

How can one not dig Chicago Deep Dish Pizza? Delicious AF. Not digging that seems to be the mindset of a Taliban lover.

I don’t even like a lot of Italian food but yeah OG is terrible. I like the salad and breadsticks well enough tho and just get that when I’m forced to go

If we're leaving Indiana, about an hour south of Toledo is the best rib joint in all the US. New Riegel Cafe. It's situated in the middle of nowhere, town of like 500 people. People come from all over for those ribs and chicken though. They don't dump a bottle of sweet BBQ sauce on their ribs, they use a special tangy garlic based family recipe that was developed by the original owner in the Army. It's pretty unique, best rib sauce I've ever had. The ribs are slow cooked all day. They aren't baby ribs either, they're big ol' spare ribs. The place is old school, they bring your food in a plastic bowl, they've got heated washcloths for cleanup, and they didn't even take credit cards till the new owners took over after COVID.

Makes my mouth water just lookin' at them.

Google shows it's permanently closed. I'd put New Riegel ribs up against anybody. It's not fine dining, it's not even Montgomery Inn in Cincinnati quasi-fancy, it's more hole in the wall type joint. It's just damn good BBQ, and a unique flavor that destroys the restaurants that just dump bottles of sweet BBQ sauce on. If your ribs come out looking like this, no thanks.

Some of the best rib tips I ever had was from a dude with a trailer in front of BigLots in Mishawaka, my 2nd Senior Year (oops).
Guy had converted a 250 gal fuel oil tank to his smoker / grill / oven and for probably $3 (maybe less in 1988, all the $ I had left that week) I got a heap of steaming tender tips on a slice of wonder bread, with a side of the perfectly spicy smoky sauce. Mighta also been some greens, but I don't think so.
Paired it with some Meisterbrau (told ya I was broke) and it not only fed me, but cured whatever sinus infection I had.

Could use a plate of it rn.
