It seems to hurt from a depth standpoint which after the last month seemed pretty important. How are the freshman and sophomores we didn’t see?

Hope all the transfers fare well and have great careers going forward.
EXCEPT for any game they may play against our Irish. If that occurs, we them to have an off day!

I, personally, think it proved to be a mistake to start Pendleton over Spindler to start the year. Spindler was a proven borderline NFL caliber player (he is likely going to be a UDFA) and Pendleton was flat out bad in the games he started.

So both players transferring adds up for different reasons. Slap in the face to Spindler to start the year, Pendleton finishes the year as OL #8 with no clear path to PT in 2025.

Coogan is the one dude where it would’ve been great to find a way to retain him but Craig beat him out for a reason.

Your top 5 OL are pretty darn clear heading into next year though — Jags, Wagner, Knapp, Schrauth, Craig. It’s going to be very hard for anyone to displace someone in that group baring injury.

I agree that's the odds on favorite group to start. Not sure where the faith in Lambert is coming from to start? Granted he's a true freshman but if he was our 4th best option at Left Tackle this year, essentially all year, hard to envision that big of a jump.

The only reason why this is even garnering this much discussion is because Driskell has no sources in the Gug and has to mine parents for content.

And someone like Spindlers dad is more than happy to run his loud mouth.

Agree with you on Lambert. Maybe he makes the jump, but Rudolph was clearly willing to play freshmen as evidenced by Knapp starting. I don’t see how he displaces Jags or Wagner short of an injury that forces Jags inside.

And your two backups are borderline 5 stars in Black and LAMBERT.

Only way Jags goes inside is if Lambert is ready to go the dude is massive may be the biggest OL on the roster.

I hope 'the Gug' puts a gag order on Driskell for attempting to foment insurrection in the OL room. If he must try to destroy the image of the coaches inside, he needs to be penalized until he fuckin figures it out.

We have better options on the OL and a lot of young guys to develop, there is no grand conspiracy. Calling the last men standing on our OL this year 'starters' is a 'sleight of hand' where you use a word to create outrage when the actuality is these players were destined for the pine and they wanted to play.

No shame and no shade needed.

Driskell is so unprofessional and listens to way too many parents.
"MULTIPLE SOURCES are ALL saying the SAME THING"

You mean to tell me that multiple parents that are all disgruntled have all formed a shared displeasure about kids playing time? I've never heard of such a thing...

For shit sake, he claims to have been a former coach. How does he not know better? My son's soccer team has this type of shit lol. Its not hard to find the Karen moms and dads crying.

This is exactly the issue with Driskell. He will use the parents to push "there's more to see here" about how Rudolph is not conducting himself properly in the room. He will never follow up on it, because he knows his source is the pissed off parent.

Driskell can't say "You should always be recruiting over the guys you currently have to push the talent up" because that would require him to critically approach the current players in an objective way.

He wouldn't understand objectivity if it was a 6 pack of mountain dew sitting in front of him.

Haven't heard much about his recovery - When is Craig ready to be full go? I think that is why many are saying Lambert - Jags - Knapp - Schrauth - Wagner.

Knapp was an EE, Lambert wasn't. FWIW. That probably matters in who was more ready to start Week One.
I feel like the *hope* is that Lambert makes the jump, and enables Jags to move inside over either Craig or Knapp. That would put our five highest-ceiling OLs (minus true freshman Black) on the field together. Ridiculous talent.
But yeah it's hard to say how ready Lambert really is. He's huge and highly-rated but didn't play especially high-level high school competition or see the field much this year.

He uses it to drive clicks and views. That's all he cares about. Too many people are willing to give him what he wants by doing this.

Even if Driskell was an informed beat guy. his arrogance and self importance is completely unbearable to listen to. Luckily his intel is equally as sh!tty as his personality. Can't see any reason to ever listen to his podcast. When you ramble for 7 hours a day to an audience, chances are 95% of comes out of your mouth is garbage. With Driskell, it's 100%.

Allegedly the offer is from Oregon for Tate and Miami for Smith.

I've 100% heard that Oregon is going after Tate, and OSU is pissed about it.

The Smith/Miami noise makes sense. Cristobal nearly flipped him on NSD last year.

He always came off so incredibly arrogant. I have no idea why someone who does a podcast for a living would be arrogant.

I have a real bad intuition that I hope that some organization of college administrations have thought about, and have installed a solution or are working at it.

Let's say that you are a "rich" program as far as donors to NIL Portal meddling is concerned. Plus, you are in a conference where you have an opponent that is consistently a problem, but is not as rich. If I wanted to run a long view plan which was exceptionally dirty, I'd bid on their stars, forcing them to up their "budget." Let them win the bidding war. Sooner or later they run out of donor willingness to keep upping the "contracts", but are stuck with the heavy ones they have. You've spent nothing, but you've crippled them. Now you can outbid them anywhere else you want and shut them out. If they give up earlier on a big star, well, you won that too.

In that world, free market with no restraint, the biggest money man always kills the lesser.

Don't like the image. Hope I'm missing something about "time-honored" killing the prime competitor behavior.
