I mean defense has just totally shit the bed. Can’t tackle, can’t rush the passer, can’t cover in man, blown assignments. There is nothing you can do when you just give up a TD every time they have the ball.
I can stand a few missed tackles. DLine isn’t getting home and Howard has all day to throw. Howard probably taking 7 seconds each throw. No defensive backfield can cover that long.

Riley fell apart after that first drive and the defense hasn't had it.

That's almost the worst combo. I thought Riley would be ready to ball but he's flinched and looked overwhelmed. Oh well, it was a fun season and the guys fought hard. Now we need to find a QB who can hit the routine throw consistently and build for another run in 25/26.

Lots of narrative changing occurred this year, now we need to tool up to win it all.

God I just love everytime we get to this moment we have to play a generational team. Why couldn’t we have played Washington man. So infuriating. I wonder if I’ll ever see even just 1 elite wide receiver at ND again god I’m so livid

Well it's been a fun ride this season. Game isn't over as our coaches are great at adjustments but this feels like a huge mountain to climb since we can't stop them. For the first time in many years I feel like I may see another national championship in my lifetime which is nice. With our injuries on D this isn't a shock to me and still love where we're heading. Hoping we keep it respectable but think we can still win.

Defensive bed wetting has more to do with missing tackles and mental mistakes in red zone than anything else.

Every set of downs on every drive a missed tackle costs them 3 or 4 yards and they can't get off the field.

Man this one hurts. Never in a million years would I have thought we’d just get our doors blown off because the defense couldn’t stop anything. It’s BVG esque. Cant tackle, getting out schemed. Just awful

You all keep forgetting that the offense couldn’t do anything for two straight drives. The offense owns some of this too.

Al Golden has been a great representative for this university, and it’s tough to be mad at him…but this has been an embarrassment by him in this first half.

I understand that some posters want to harp on their size and speed, but give me a break.
Every third down call on defense has been a mistake. We’re rushing three people on third and five with no spy accounting for the QB.
I could break them down one by one, but it’s not worth the effort.

He will be in Cincinnati by the end of the week, and this will just be a blip on the career trajectory for him.
Sadly he is letting us down big time so far tonight, just sucks to watch after such a great career by him.

OSU is on a different level.
Yep. If this is what a $20M roster looks like, ND needs to step up their NIL game. The II crew said ND's NIL payroll was a little more than half of UGA's this year. Brice said UGA's payroll was $12M, so ND was likely around $7M this year. There's no reason why ND shouldn't be in the $12-15M range, at the least.
