That’s a pretty interesting question.

Riley’s not helped by only being here one season, and his fairly middling pass stats. But a title is a title and Quinn, Clausen, Mirer and everyone else except Tony Rice never won one.

I wouldn't go that far. I get that QBs get elevated by the team's performance but nobody is gonna compare Knapp to an all-time great or anything.

Montana had some great moments (‘77 USC game, ‘77 Natty, ‘79 chicken soup game) but I’d say Rice had a more prolific college career. Montana was never an All-American. Rice was in ‘89. RL won’t be but for a single season run, he reminds me more of Kevin McDougal. If ND wins tonight though he’ll be placed higher than McDougal. On the flip side, if ND isnt competitive, RL will become a bad meme not seen since the Manti days.

How has Ohio State been against mobile QBs?
Leonard running was absolutely essential against Georgia. Feels like it will be tonight too. But also he needs to hit a few passes downfield to keep them honest. And throw no dumb picks.

Don’t think they’ve played a real running QB yet. How they handle Riley’s running will likely decide the game.
