This kid’s a monster and doesn’t get the hype he deserves. Fast, physical, instinctive, violent, and plays with serious swagger. The look in his eyes after he blew up the screen play almost 5 minutes into the 4th tells you all you need to know about how locked in this team is.

I think this mf is the most important recruit since Manti, maybe longer. As evidence I submit the end reverse on Georgia's first possession. He turns Stockton's block into kitty litter and then pursues him after the play for further discursive back and forth on the subject of how his ass tastes. Georgia's players seem surprised that a Notre Dame linebacker is acting this way.

I don't have any knowledge, literally not any, inside or otherwise, on football or any other subject, but from an outside perspective Bowen seems to represent a sea change in the attitude of this defense and team as a whole.

I wouldn’t say he’s the most important recruit since Manti, but you’re right - there’s a certain attitude they play with, and Bowen seems to be at the center of it.

One of the most noticeable differences between Kelly and Freeman is the level of physicality on defense. BK's defenses were solid toward the end, but it always irked me how the LBers and secondary would almost catch ball carriers and gently bring them to the turf instead of running through them.

This defense is out there looking to hit anything with a pulse. Bowen is a huge part of that mentality. Schuler is another guy who just flies around and wrecks people. Watts, too but we all know that. Even the corners are laying hits. We’ve gone from throwing our purses at ball carriers to absolutely wrecking them. It’s the kind of edge we’ve been missing for way too long. It starts at the top with Freeman, but I think Bullough has a role to play here, too. Just a hunch.

Agreed but remember that JOK hit when the fella exploded.

Bowen’s attitude is essential. And as good as Freeman has done with hybrid type players he’s usually had a thumper MLB. Junior was one attempt but was a bit too slow. Bowen next. I think Madden is the successor.

He has the potential to be All-American good next year. One thing I'd love to see from the linebackers is actual pass coverage though. They are tough, usually mean in the running game and blitz, but once we can actually drop guys into solid coverage this defense will level up.

We need more guys like this.

Might be one of the first guys I pick in a street fight

The defense didn’t play good assignment football last night because including Drake.

He did hustle and cause the fumble.

But he has struggled in coverage in the playoffs.

Styles struggled in coverage vs Texas, King struggled in coverage against ND. Frankly, most ILBs aren’t good in coverage

Bowen needs to clean up at least being like close to the play which makes the QB make a throw but tbh he won’t ever be good in coverage

Bowen's a roughneck, brawling tough guy. Always on the edge of getting into it with somebody.

Most guys like that are good play blasters but not route coverers .... my opinion.

I’m sure he made some mistakes yesterday, but he seemed to be the only one who stood out on defense with his passion and tenacity. Looking forward to what he can do in the future.

He got out of position on that Judkins 70 yd. But he's want you want in a Mike. Downhill thumper. Plays aggressive and brings the energy. Pass coverage isn't his strong point, but I like what I've seen from him. KVA, Ausberry, Sneed, and Bowen have the potential to be an elite unit next year.
