Price is vastly underappreciated by some. He is so fun to watch. He runs hard and catches the ball well. Some of you make it sound like he is just someone who is a one trick pony and bounces all the time.

If the hole isn't there immediately he does tend to bounce it outside a lot, or he tries to cut back. Occasionally it pays off big, most times it doesn't.

Agreed, while I think Love should get the bulk of the carries, teams know what Love can do, but not Price or Williams (yet).

Can you image Love in the back field and Price or Williams in motion and getting lined up against a LB. Haha winner chicken dinner.

With these defenses, the difference is likely going to be on an explosive. Price might get stuffed a lot but the chance for a 60 yard td is worth it in a game where long drives will be at a minimum.

We must not be watching the same thing. The guys averaging almost 7 ypc for fucks sake.
Love is averaging more, and he hasn't been stopped for 0 or negative yards as often. Again, Price has been feast or famine. 8 carries for -3 yards against A&M, then one that went for 55. He's not as patient as Love when it comes to following the blocks and finding the hole, he has a tendency to kick it outside or cutback a lot. Most of the time it doesn't work, but occasionally it goes for for big yardage.

Dude he’s got like 2 runs on the year longer than 23 yds. You act like he is averaging almost 7 yds/pop because he keeps breaking off these huge runs to boost up his average after a bunch of stuffs. the majority of his big runs are either a cutback or a cut to the outside once he is through the initial hole. Go rewatch the film.

Go rewatch the A&M touchdown you just referenced..

He had more than 2, anything 20+ is real good typically depending on the defense.
A&M: 8 carries for 44 yards with a long of 47, so without that busted run he was 7 carries for -3 yards. Feast or famine.
Purdue: 8 carries for 86 yards with a long of 70. Take away that one big run, he's 7 carries for 16 yards, or 2.28 yards a carry. Feast or famine.
NIU: 3 YPC against a poor team once you take the longest run out.
Miami: One of his more consistent games, averaging 5 YPC even after taking away a 15 yard busted play.
Louisville: Just 3 carries for 18 yards with a long of 16, small sample size, throw this game out.
Stanford: 2.75 YPC if you take away the longest run. He actually had a 16, 10, and a 10, then a bunch of no gains, short gains, and negatives. Feast or famine.
GT: Big game for Price, long runs of 23, 20, 20, 1.2 YPC after that. Feast or famine.
Navy: This was the one game Price didn't have a double digit decent run, but only had 5 carries too so small sample size again.
FSU: 4.29 YPC if you take away the 63 yard run. Better, but a trash defense.
Virginia: Similar results to FSU if you take away the 20 yard run, again, not stellar defense.
Army: Same
USC: Price actually had two runs of 36 and 35 yards in this one with Love hobbled. Another bad defense, but a good game for him.

Look, not saying Price ain't a bad back. He's a big time playmaker. On any other team that doesn't have Love he's a superstar. Love just happens to have the big play ability and he tends to be more consistent. He's had some games were he's been stuffed, but he generally has better YPC even if you take out his busted plays. He's far more patient and follows his blockers, which leads to more consistent gains. They're both great runners, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

But your idea must be balanced with keeping drives alive long enough to hit the explosive. You can't operate out of 2nd & 10+ or 3rd & 8 against this defense. It's too fast and physical to consistently move the chains and we don't have the pass pro for it.

This is the knife's edge that offensive coordinators dance on. Personally, I love Price and I want to see him get touches but if he's not taking the 2-4 in front of him, I hope Love and Williams get the most touches because I know they're going to run physical and take what is there and possibly a little bit more. We don't want to overwork Love, that is the most critical part of this game. I don't want to see him above 17 touches, which might be the highwater mark for him this year?

I hope Price proves he can get tough yards. This defense will be a very big test for everyone.
