Beck made some horrendous throws vs Florida. Threw 3 picks. The first 2 were terrible. The third he got absolutely clobbered while throwing. UGA down in the game and he doesn’t bat an eye. Brings his team back and made some really good plays.

He brought them back a hand full of times this year. Against Florida. Against Ga tech. Even against Bama after a terrible start. He played a great game against Tennessee.

Passing wise the drop off from him to Stockton really could be huge.
Pretty tall order for Stockton coming into a game like this. UGA will probably want to run to take the pressure off. Get him uncomfortable early and UGA is going to be in trouble.

Beck being out is a bigger loss than I think people realize. Georgia won with their passing game this year not their running game

Beck was certainly an enigma. Going into this season, I'd argue that he was predicted to be the top QB in college football (first round pick at least). He certainly didn't perform as such and had high highs and low lows. I don't think he was "all in" mentally and what somewhat of a primadonna.

Stockton, evidentially, is the polar opposite of Beck. Stockton grew up in Tiger, Georgia...loves to hunt and fish, is fully invested and will give it 100%. Extremely tough, gritty player that the Georgia team and fans really love.

Put it like this, Beck drives around Athens in a $300,000 Lamborghini while Stockton gets around town in his grandfather's '84 F150.

I hope they lose and he has a poor game, but it seems like he's a good kid.

I think you will see Williams used a lot in this game
I hope so. I said it earlier in this thread, but I think he's pivotal in this game and for Notre Dame's rushing attack. Notre Dame will have to run it between the tackles at some point and Williams, in my opinion, is Notre Dame's toughest, most physical runner. He really is fun to watch ... always falls forward and fights for extra yardage.

I love that all the “narrative crafting” storyline bullshit is on the other team for once. Every talking head is leading with this stuff on Stockton. Usually it’s ND that has “build up” the narrative. Bodes well me thinks

We're going to be in trouble if we see a repeat of the USC game
I think that was as much a result of ND not getting to the QB as the secondary having failures. Sure Gray got beat a few times but when a CB is in man coverage you can only ask them to hold the fort for so long before a receiver inevitable gets open. Also the SC WR are better than UGA WR from what I’ve heard/read. Arian Smith of UGA might be the fastest WR ND faces but he also has a lot of drops. UGA will have to attempt some shots down field & I suspect Smith will be the main target.

The hard part about the USC game is we got in on their QB a lot, he was just very good at getting the ball out. And yes they probably do have better WRs than Georgia. I'll be surprised if Georgia's passing game is as good as USC's was.
The trick for us will be forcing them into passing situations, and then forcing Stockton to make mistakes. I foresee big games for Sneed, KVA (if he can go) and Watts/Shuler.

Quit worrying about Georgia and look at the big picture.
1. This team has been on a mission since the NIU game and they can still taste it.
2. This team is a team in the purest sense. None of these guys wants to let the rest of the team down.
3. Knapp wasn't recruited by Georgia and wants to show Kirby what a big mistake that was.
4. Rubio may not be a long term answer for the loss of Mills, but how many times have you seen a backup come in and elevate their play for a game or two? Rubio will be just fine.
5. Guys all over the team have stepped up all season when needed. No reason to think they won't against Georgia.
6. This team is led by a guy that's a pretty good motivator.
7. The O-line is ready to serve up another serving of Fuck You football.

They got this fellas.

It’s weird to feel confident in a game of this magnitude…but I am. I used to always think, “Please just don’t let us embarrass ourselves…” but not only do I think we can win, I expect us to do so. It’s such a foreign feeling. Completely different than anything I’ve ever experienced in 30 years of fandom.

I think if we can play "even" all things considered but would find ourselves behind at the end.

Difference will be if we can create a couple big turnovers defensively.

Stay ahead of the sticks vs the run and force their backup QB and we who are near top of all teams in drops to make plays against our secondary.

Underrated story: Freeman did not send the team home for Christmas. Tells me he believes the team culture is excellent and they like to be around each other more than their own families.
Maybe this was a big mistake and the guys are quite unhappy about it. But nothing to this effect has leaked out.
