Also, Charles Dolan, a titan of the early cable industry who owned Cablevision, launched HBO and AMC Network, and later branched out into iconic New York venues and sports teams, has died at 98.

Whether you agreed with him politically or not, you have to respect the man for his service to this country. Naval Academy graduate, Governor, President, and his work with the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanity is evidence of a long, full life of service to this country and its citizens. 100 years old!!! RIP.

Carter wasn’t a great President. Partly I think because of when he became president and the shit storm of Nixon and the Middle East all coming to a head.

But he was a good man. He was a person that seemed to genuinely care about his fellow humans.

RIP to President Carter, he lived a good, long, faith-filled life.

Forget the politics. Just a great human being.
There is no “forgetting” the politics. He did damage to this country, damage that we are still dealing with today. that IS part of his legacy whether anyone wants to talk about it or not, and it must always be mentioned.

By all accounts a good man, though. Hope he rests well.

He wasn't as bad as people suggest as a president but had to deal with big problems that were never properly addressed by the next admin

Famed soul singer Sam Moore, half of Sam & Dave, passed away yesterday at the age of 89 from complications following surgery. Moore and Dave Prater had a string of hits in the '60s such as “Hold On! I’m Comin',” “When Something Is Wrong with My Baby,” “Soul Man,” and “I Thank You,” and enjoyed a revival of fame in the late '70s when acts such as The Blues Brothers and ZZ Top did remakes of some of them, bringing much deserved attention to the duo.

I remember the 5 down game, but for some reason I remember it being Nebraska.
Think it was because they went on to win at least a share of the NC that year. If memory serves me.

Edit: Memory served me wrong. It was Colorado vs Missouri

I believe this young man passed away recently (Jack Hoffman) after a years’ long battle with cancer. He got this opportunity to participate in Nebraska’s spring game years ago. I made the mistake of watching this video and now I have tears in my eyes while I’m trying to finish my workout at the gym.

I know he was the Milwaukee dude, but for Cleveland fans he'll always be the announcer from Major League. RIP

He also had a run in with Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania

I thought there was a good story about how he got to be the announcer in Major League, but I can't find it.
