So I get the argument that ND shouldnt get a bye because they don't play a championship game and have one less game. But If you use that argument I don't think you should punish ND for not playing this week by having the losers of these games (Penn St and Texas) ahead of a ND team who has better record.

Also don't count FCS games in records

This is why getting the fifth seed is so important, first you play a bad clemson and then are set up against a very beatable Boise State
The fifth seed will play Arizona State unless you think they're jumping 6 spots over boise.

The 6 seed is probably better than the 5.

I don’t agree that SMU should be knocked out, but THIS is exactly why I think we jump PSU.

The committee are Neanderthals and think any loss = have to drop down. They’ve done it repeatedly over the last decade.

IMO PSU shouldn’t drop for a close loss (even tho we should already be above them), but the committee will punish them anyway bc that’s just what they do / how they’ve treated Conference Chanpionships in the past.

Pretty insane UGA wasn’t in last year in retrospect.

What a dream this would be. Would be ~10pt favorites in the first 2 games, and would effectively be a pick em against Oregon.

I think we'd be a 10 point dog, but we could get em.

They don't like power runs at that D. If Franklin wasn't a complete bozo, PSU could have made that a real game.

First-round matchups

No. 12 SMU (11-2, at-large) at No. 5 Texas (11-2, at-large)

No. 11 Clemson (10-3, ACC champion) at No. 6 Penn State (11-2, at-large)

No. 10 Indiana (11-1, at-large) at No. 7 Notre Dame (11-1, at-large)

No. 9 Tennessee (10-2, at-large) at No. 8 Ohio State (10-2, at-large)

Projections I just saw...

(but most of em have us at 6 playing Clemson at home and I'd be happier with that)

ND would beat everyone in this 12 team bracket easily, except for Oregon and Ohio St. I truly believe those are the only two teams that can beat ND right now.

I agree, but I just don't wanna play Indiana at home... it would negate our winter advantage

And Indiana is a little scary because they're well coached and it would be a whole stupid thing.

Who do you drop in '23 between undefeated conference champ Michigan, undefeated conference champ Washington, 1 loss conference champ Texas with a larger MOV against Bama?

Right, like these aren't apples to apples comparisons - there was no way Georgia stayed in last year over Bama, who had the same number of losses and a H2H win over them. The only controversy was Bama vs FSU
