Like no one ever left a Harris rally early. lol

I'm sure some people leave early at both rallies. Trump squeezed in a 4th rally last night. Harris did 5. That's just insane.

Like I said, these guys are on auto pilot at this point. Who would want to run for president? I wouldn't even want to be a union steward.

Just voted. Had to scan the bar code on my ID, state name and address, then the person checking me had to voice announce checking me in. All video recorded. Then I got my paper ballot, filled it out, and scanned it in.

Why can’t everywhere do this?
If I were elected (stop laughing), the first thing I would work on is getting election laws changed. Make sure everyone in all states had the proper ID, had to show it and were legally allowed to vote. There would be reps from both parties monitoring everything to make sure it was all above board.

Just came here to apologize for any hateful comments I made in the lead up to this election. Truly, I'm sorry. Especially to @TorontoGold. Regardless of the winner, I hope we can all find a way to come together. Polarization and hate are exhausting. One love.

God. Country. Notre Dame.
If I could rep this 100 times, I would.

For a majority of Americans—and specifically for us on this board—we’re more alike than we are different.

My secretary’s daughter attends a university just west of Chicago in DeKalb, IL. It’s her primary residence now, so she votes over there. She went to vote this morning, gave the poll worker her name and wasn’t required to show anything. She gave her name, was escorted to a voting booth and voted.

I’m fairly centric when it comes to my political views but I cannot fathom any argument AGAINST universal voter ID. I also question ballot boxes and mail-in ballots. Election Day should be a federal holiday.

The only two ways to vote should be early voting at a polling station or on Election Day. In 2024 there should be some sort of system where absentee voters can go to a local courthouse or town hall and access a ballot in that facility from the area where they are registered and vote that way.

Our election process is a ridiculous circus enough as is without the actual voting process having to be such a fustercluck.

Saw where Georgia and North Carolina have both exceeded 80% of the total 2020 votes in early voting.

I'm laughing at my friends who waited 1-2 hours in line to vote early- I walked right in at 8:30am this morning submitting #137 to the machine.

Isn't Iowa getting extra Kamala push over their Iowa court abortion ruling? Ironic that pushes the top of the ticket when they should be focusing on state level if that is so motivating.

Iowa, Kansas, and Ohio all getting the Dobbs push. I don't think you will see it in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania because they all have Dem governors or other protections... the 6 week abortion ban in Iowa was jarring to a lot of people, especially because of how it came to pass. And that's why a lot of women there want the GOP out. Same with how in NE-2 the Republicans trying to last minute strip their EV really mobilized independents and dems against them... in general, people don't like fuckery, they want to feel like the process is "fair."

What’s the point if one side will ban it federally?

Ohioan here. Anecdotal but I’m sitting here waiting to vote and I’ve never waited this long to vote. Ever.

This is why Republicans don't deserve nice things and also an example of why it needs to be a state issue. Vast majority support some limitations on abortion and the vast majority oppose outright abortion bans - both sides work hard to keep it a lightning rod issue much like immigration.

I would be a huge fan of more states taking the NE/ME approach to EV allocations.

Because some people want to cheat. That’s the only answer.

Why are so many people turning out in Ohio? The close Senate race? Are there other ballot initiatives?

Issue 1 is on the ballot to fix gerrymandering. I suspect it has more to do with abortion though. Ohio was the first state to vote to enshrine abortion into our state constitution. The republican senate candidate Bernie Moreno is a scumbag that has said he's against abortion with no exceptions.

He's going to win though, yes?
