I won't lie, I also think it's a really funny that the lead blocker TE 100% turtled when he saw Bowden crashing down. The TE rounds the corner, seees Bowden coming, and attempts to turn his body away from the hit before contact is made. If I was the A&M OC I'd give him some shit about it in the film study but it's hard to overcome a preservation instinct in the moment.

Did you see that poor kid on the kickoff return who looked up and saw Bryce Young barreling down on him at full speed?

He saw his life flash before him and gave em the "Ole!"

(He gave him just enough of a grazing shoulder nudge to save the a+m returner's life)

The amount of underclassmen who really flashed in the A&M game has me more excited than I can remember being about Notre Dame honestly.
22 guys played on either offense or defense that were feshman or sophomores eligibility wise. 14 of them true freshman or sophomores. For as good as they can be this year, this team is young.

Yep. Watching that defense and yes you've got Mills and Cross and Watts and Kiser, but also Traore and Bowen and Gray and KVA, on the field in big moments. It feels like building something that will last.

It's crazy that between guys like KVA and Sneed getting the headlines this past offseason that a guy as highly recruited as Bown practially slips through the cracks as far as ND media goes.

Yeah, the media was pretty open about it. They kept saying, "the coaches continue to say good things about him but with limited practice, we haven't seen it in person. We'll have to wait until they play games".

After one data point, he certainly looks like he's ready for his opportunity.

I said it when he signed. I'll say it again. He reminds me of Michael Stonebreaker....and I know that's a high bar.

I would be quite happy if he's 90% of Mr. Stonebreaker.

Especially in the LB corp.

Bowen, KVA, Sneed, and Ausberry all looked terrific. They're earning their snaps.

Little bro is probably going the baseball route as he’s one of the top kids in his class for the state of Indiana. He just received a football offer from the Illini.

I was going to post the same thing. Goolsby has warmed up to Bowen stating he is a tone setter, but still rags on his speed. I think Bowen is plenty fast enough for a Mike.

Future is bright at LB’s!
He seems to have good instincts for where to be.

Goolsby has talked about not wanting Bowen getting too big… citing a concern with hip flexibility and overall lateral movement.

And he was right. Bowen slimmed down a bit since his freshman year and has looked pretty solid.
