WOW!!! What an awesome article. What a tremendous young man. The stories of character that I've heard from this class blows me away. Let's just say, by the time these kids are juniors, if not sooner, Notre Dame will have NO leadership problems.

Great article. Sounds like his mom has been a great influence. I can't wait to see Michael on the field next season also.

he is such a great fit for ND. His playing style is so throwback too, the way he runs and catches the ball is alot of fun to watch. I look forward to his next four years at ND.

Wow nice story. Its nice when hard working people are recognized, and get some pay off down the line. Not enough of these stories imo.

i see great things ahead of him. and i second the throwback style. you slap some of those gigantic 80's pads on him he's a clone of tim brown. i wish i could fast forward really quick and catch a game of this class as seniors

Now I think Clausen will be unreal once we get an offensive line but Floyd is the best football player Weis has landed during his tenure.

That could happen, but I'll have to give everyone their equal years to see who did in fact make the biggest impact. Right now I'd say....Brian Smith or Darrin Walls have proved that so far. That is likely to change year to year though.

Yahoo!'s Matt Hinton wrote a very interesting article about how Michael Floyd's production seems to have an inverse relationship with whether ND wins or loses.

If anyone thinks there's a clear explanation for this, I'd love to read it.

It's because, looking at the chart, ND happens to be nearly 4 points better on defense when he isn't going over 100 yards. That's absolutely huge. And it's purely correlative (unless someone can give me a good explanation of how Floyd's yard have an impact on defense).

Like ice cream sales being correlated with diving board accidents... there is no causal relationship at all and this is a really stupid article.

MAYBE WE AN HAVE HIM RUN BACKWARDS AFTER THE CATCH!?!
Surely if he has a -100yrd game, we'll win by a blowout!

This article is the result of someone who wanted to become an economist and ended ip a sports-writer.

Interesting, but irrelevant.

Statistically speaking, this isn't about a straight up Pearson Correlation. You'll need to run a linear regression in order to create an appropriate predictive model. That is, there are more Independent Variables than Mike's production.

I mean, He's been talking to Rudolph, Jimmy, and all his other teammates/former teammates. It has to be him for real.

It's either the real Mike Floyd, or an extremely convincing fraud. Has never posted something that made me think twice.
