I don't necessarily think that's wrong. I was as hard as anyone on TM but I'd rather have him than Tyree in 2024. TM can glidle like few others, he's soft and has weak, hands, but he runs lile a gazelle. Tyree drops balls, fumbles, and just isn't that special at getting open and certainty not after catch IMO.
This is so funny. There are a ton of kids that can glide and run like a gazelle and are just like TM, but haven’t been able to elevate their skills just like TM.

Agree, but some have. Tyree doesn't do anything well IMO. He runs ok routes, has ok hands, probably below average hands, he fumbles, he doesn't get past defense, and he falls down when touched. He's also tiny.

This is earily similar to the argument preseason where I said I'd rather have Marist over Kiser because he has the potential to do something, where as Kiser is what he is. It wasn't that Marist is a finished product but there's at least something there.

Does anyone know what kind of spring RJ had? I can’t recall a lot of talk or discussion from the beat writers. Is he projected to be starting week one against Texas A&M?

It’s either him or Burnham with Bothelho Traore and Tuli slotted at vyper but it’s fluid and we’ll use two vipers situationally.

He did fine.

Reading the tea leaves, it was just adjusting to things. But they know how good he can be and he’s putting pushes by the depth. All goooooood

Thanks. I believe I read or heard more about Josh Burnham at the end role. I knew RJ was athletic and could be moved around. I wouldn’t hate to see Burnham at end at slotting RJ in the viper.

Prister on II podcast quite critical of Oben after rewatch
Where the hell was he? I forgot he was on the team during the game to he honest. Then saw he had 1 assisted tackle. Not exactly the production many of us expected.

The only DL I did notice were Cross, Hinish, Mills, Botelho.

Burnham got some snaps in relief of Oben. Looked good, held his ground and stayed on his feet.

Yeah, Oben was bad bad and looked lost at times. Burnham didn't set the world on fire but he was sound and applying pressure at times. There was one play where Weigman was flushed up the middle and Oben is seriously running the opposite direction (towards the sideline) in pursuit.

It's only one game, but agreed, not a great start. He historically played well in big games. Imagine if ND grabs Scourton in the portal instead... (I know that was likely a back channel job)

Could see Burnham jumping him off there isn't noticeable improvement in the next couple.

Given he went to Duke, you wouldn't think he's struggling to learn the defense, but then maybe he is?

ah his big thing was inconsistency. he could turn around and have a big game next week, just hard to know. Historically he did always play his best games versus the better teams though

Watched the DL highlights from the Postgame Thread. Only positive I can come up with is that he seemed prepared at all times to set the edge.
