Seems appropriate to share—got to know a kid who is close friends with a certain Chicago DT who comes to mind as I read this thread.

Asked him how much ND missed by when the final decision was made…he said “By $935,000.”

TIFWIW.

If that’s the going rate for a HS senior I would much rather spend the big money on proven portal guys.

1) he’s not good

2) Numerous sites have already said they won’t pursue him. Been discussed in numerous threads in the last month.
Sounds like someone we will target after missing on a high quality recruit

He gone took ND football tag out of his instragram bio at this rate Freeman needs to pull the offer

Freeman needs to pull the offer
This is a business and it's August. If Knight has kept ND in the loop (it seems like he has), no way the offer should be pulled.
The choice is whether or not to keep recruiting him if/when he decommits.
He can't announce he's pulling the offer but he can offer other QBs and probably should start with a hard run at Zollers.
A much better move than pulling an offer before the kid has actually decommitted.

Oh damn. My bad. Should have went back and checked out the last several months of posts I missed. Thanks for your reply.

Who is your go to then? Probably a already committed elsewhere prospect?

My apologies. Just reread my message. Came off as an asshole. Wasn’t my intent. Ryan Roberts had an article on some guys last week. The beat has been quiet on them for obvious reasons.

Hard to remember a recruiting fail quite like this one...

Flips happen. And it's one thing to lose a Keon Keeley to Nick Saban's Alabama. Even if NIL was a deciding factor, you can understand that decision on the field too. Or when Peyton Bowen follows his QB and his girlfriend to Oklahoma, at least they're a playoff contender.

But when a skeezy-ass mid program like Auburn comes in and steals your quarterback, it's clearly about the money (maybe the WR room a far distant second, Putup), and - if for some reason we're not able to compete on the money - we need to think long and hard about how we got so deep in to begin with on a kid/family who'd make that decision for that reason. Especially at the one position where you can't line up four guys in case one falls through. Fit matters so much at QB, and we seem to have really fucked this one up. Kinda for the second time in three cycles.

At this point mostly hoping that we can pull another Minchey off the scrap heap somehow, and maybe that we learn our lesson.

Deuces ✌🏼
Thinking a bit more about the inevitable here, I’ll actually respect this decision on some level if he misses us with the whole “better fit/program/staff” spiel and legit just says that they paid him six figures up front and offered both his parents a job. Certainly shortsighted in the long run, but I’d appreciate that level of honesty. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Did I miss an official flip announcement?

The fact he is going back to Auburn before officially committing to me signals that he is still looking for something. This one is going to drag on until one school tells the family that they are out.
Fwiw Auburn wasn't willing to meet Julian Lewis's demands.

he'd be dumb to commit to Auburn before they actually play any games, unless they are giving him a bag up front. A clever person in his situation would be leveraging the best bag possible from multiple SEC teams and the longer he'd wait the more desperate they'd become

Isn't that what is happening? My understanding is that ND can "compete" with any program's NIL but won't "pay" a player up front. Other programs will I guess.

What's crazy about the whole thing is he's been to ND like 10 times? that is crazy...maybe parents need to recoup all those travel costs..

Almost want to say...similar to AZ...Stay out of MS!!

Just man up and decommit already instead of dragging it out like a prima donna or Freeman should drop this Deuce.
