Seems like some are reporting that Deuce might stay
If anyone can convince him to stay it’s Freeman there’s a lot going for ND here I think if we can make it to week one and let Denbrock show Deuce what the WR’s can do he will stick. He’s gonna make way more money at ND in endorsements alone. Another thing is Denbrock and Golden are locked in for 3 years so at least he won’t worry about having coaches jump ship. And Freeman should be getting an extension soon

His parents are being offered 6 figure jobs.

Kid is in a bidding war and we are dumb enough to play along.

I wanted him more than any recruit in 40 years, but it’s time to let him go , let his parents get paid and follow his 8-5 annual career at auburn .

I personally believe he would start day one next year, win a Heisman and a Natty here.

Yes they had Cam Newton that once. Most of the time they go like 8-4 if they’re lucky.
I agree, but still… that is a statement that can’t be refuted. And their fans can, and will hold it over our heads.

Let his parents take those jobs. Good for them. Will keep them busy while Deuce is away in south bend.

Sorry I'm a little behind.... Coming where?

To a visit or signing?

Coming as in committed. Told ND and commits he's still committed and going to be committed to ND.

Auburn was informed he's coming. Whether that was from Deuce or parents or others is unclear from the post.

My two cents, but Loy/Singer/others keep mentioning get to the season and if it plays out how we expect, it should die down... I disagree. it's just going to continue. The SEC voices will only get louder. I hope he ends up at ND, but what's the point of fighting for him if the longer you wait, the tougher it becomes to find a replacement?

So we are back to listening to Loy again for some season? Hasn't it been proved that he is being payed to make recruitments more dramatic.

Others have said the same. Loy might make it more dramatic, but he's not going to lie and say Deuce told ND and commits he's still committed.

When is a better time to decommit if you want to keep it low key? During the summer when there is no football to talk about other than recruiting or during the season when recruiting is an afterthought?

Didn't Peyton Bowen say the same thing? Told all the commits and staff all the way up until the night before that he was still coming...and then didn't. We should all be smart enough to read between the lines. Actions speak louder than words.

For the record, I hope he still signs with ND. I've just been following recruiting long enough to know that these types of situations don't typically end in ND's favor. Some do, but most don't.

He will lie though, he was told to lie about Meadows to make it seem like a battle when he was all LSU

Then don’t read any updates on it? I’m sure many want updates about the highest profile commit in this class. If taking Loy at his word, there’s no reason to believe Deuce at the moment would stick based off his actions, and it just looks worse on Deuce when he does flip for telling the commits and staff he’s sticking.

I just hope it’s not a situation where Deuce wants to go to Notre Dame, however the parents want and need the jobs / money from Auburn, and he chooses Auburn for that very reason.

Lol; that was Driskell being butt hurt he didn’t have intel from the ND staff. He claimed the whole time Washington lead before Bama then LSU. That was 100% the preference of Meadows’ dad. Derek would be at ND if his parents and coaches didn’t get in his ear about the SEC so much

Yeah parents regardless of financial standing should support their kids decision. As a parent myself I would never sway my child one way or another to help myself out. Not my business I suppose but just my perspective on the whole thing

Deuce is worth going all in on no matter how long this drags out, he has the highest upside of any QB in the class.

With Carr and Grubbs (who I think it a top100 guy) in 24 and 26, the only QB who moves the needle at all in 25 is a kid like Deuce. otherwise they are more or less just a body on the depth chart.

Yep, even bothering to pivot over and find some replacement is either as much or more effort than just continuing to pursue Knight.

Any other low 4/high 3 would just eventually transfer out sandwiched between Carr/Grubbs.

I'd hate for Deuce to flip, but it's great knowing that they still have Minchey, Carr and Grubbs on board (as of now anyway). Soooo, it's not like there are no other very good QB's in the fold.

if my family was poor and I could get my parents six figure jobs (with contracts), I’d have to bite. NiL and NFL isn’t guaranteed.

I think it is as simple as a 17 year old young man who has had a lot of shite thrown at him over the past 6 months trying to process everything. I’d assume his parents have never been in this type of situation either. I hope he takes the ND path.

Duke basketball is more like it. Great University. Great basketball team.

We should be able to recruit speed like OSU.
Bama is the closest to Duke simply because of how they recruit the top guys every year, Duke recruits 4-5 guys a year and 90% are 5* guys. Just another level their "project" recruits are Top 50 guys, if your not in the Top 100 your not getting an offer and a 3*?? haha, they don't even acknowledge....Maybe a walk-on

I think that is quite possibly the situation here. Otherwise, why Auburn?

They have nothing to offer Deuce that us and other better programs won’t. But they may be willing to offer the parents what us and other programs won’t.
