I'm on the fence a bit...I'm fairly convinced it's bogus, but what would the motive be for someone to fake that and how would they get the guy's number? Also the language/grammar for the "catfish" message and Rispress seem similar. Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's deflecting. Guess we would need to see the phone number and it would have to be matched to Rispress. If he's smart (That's in doubt) he's using a burner.

Just read the text. It reeks of Steve Buscemi, "how do you do, fellow kids" vibes.

"Are you a full commit to CSU Pueblo" is not a question a director of player personnel would ask. Besides the fact that it seems like forced wording, he would have no reason to ask because he would already know the answer. Also, "commit" and "flip" are words used before a recruit is signed which means tampering doesn't apply. Anyone can poach any unsigned recruit at any time whether they are verbally committed or not.

Whoever initiated the text was using obvious wording to make UC look bad. Someone who actually wants to break a tampering rule would be much more subtle and use words that didn't sound forced.

Right, but we're talking about a guy that leads off with this sentence: "nice try yall been catfished wrong guy brother." It tracks with the broken English in the texts a bit, which is the only reason it gives me pause. It feels bogus, but there's a few red flags there.

I hate to Zapruder this but that's not really broken English. He just didn't use punctuation which is somewhat typical for Twitter posts. If you insert the proper punctuation the statement isn't broken at all - "Nice try. Ya'll been catfished. Wrong guy, brother." There's nothing forced about that wording, unlike the text.

Is it not consistent with the texts lacking adequate punctuation?
"Hey man hows it going this is coach Devin rispress the assistant director of player personnel at Colorado University," Call dshans for me, but we're missing at least a few commas and a question mark in there, and it probably should have ended in a period.

I was just refuting your point about broken English. The lack of punctuation really doesn't tell us anything. Texts and Twitter posts are similar with regard to punctuation. Many people do not punctuate their texts or tweets, and many use voice-to-text, making poor punctuation even more common.

My point was that the forced, odd wording of the text was what gave it away.

Not sure how accurate, but:

A source told AthlonSports' Steve Corder that such a demand was the "final straw" for several Buffs, who proceeded to hit the portal during the May 1 - May 15 transfer portal window.

"The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a source told Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."

The mandatory Lil Wayne show upset some, while others dealt with heavier locker room issues pertaining to initiations and gambling.

Colorado football locker room culture has issues

Things weren't rosy in 2023, start to finish, for the Buffs behind the scenes. Players were handed their pink slips throughout the offseason and Coach Prime had serious health issues that nearly compromised his ability to be on the sidelines at all.

It was evident during the season that Sanders wasn't a fan of how his offensive line was performing ahead of Shedeur Sanders, having called them out publically while they were still there in November. It's no wonder that every notable lineman left the program this offseason.

This offseason, in-fighting was a common refrain, according to CU player sources. Things haven't gotten better in that department, and the newest group of transfers is talking down on Coach Prime and the Buffs much sooner than the 2022 players did.

Locker room culture isn't a strong suit for CU, and that often leads to negative results on the field. But even with all of the issues last season, there were several close games that could've gone the other way.

Maybe Colorado wins those this year and achieves their bowl game goal. Stranger things have happened in sports. Just ask the 1990 UNLV Runnin' Rebels.

I'm not a big fan of Colorado, but watching the video a few times it's possible #10 did catch it. If you watch the beginning of the video it looks like #10 is coming out of the slot on a Wheel route. He goes outside before turning it upfield. In the split second before the video cuts it looks like #10 is emerging in the background (behind the lineman #67) and deep where the ball is landing. The shots seem to line up, you can see the cameraman on the other side turning for the catch too. It's possible he could have dropped it and both shots are manufactured, but there's a chance he caught it too.

[EDIT] Yeah, just saw this in the comments, full unedited shot from another angle. He caught it.

Okay, the original premise was funny, but like...why are there still videos coming out? It's been debunked, he actually caught the ball.

Hey everyone, look how good this QB looks in this highlight reel of practice where the defense he is playing against is in the bottom quarter of the league and probably is playing at half speed!
