Gosh, I miss those teams.

I remember him doing it in the end zone immediately after scoring, like, all the time.

I did A LOT of drugs in the 90's tho....

Yeah give me some "son of" guys. Pedigree matters. Not just for athletic gifts but they also grew up with a role model who taught them what it takes to succeed at the sport. The Notre Dame connection is nice but this staff knows this which is why we've got multiple legacy guys in the pipeline.

Joe Burrow, Christian McCaffrey, DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr, Asante Samuel Jr, Patrick Surtain II, Antoine Winfield Jr, every sport has a huge amount of legacy guys who succeed every year for a reason.

Who would you rather have? Bus Jr or Wes Pritchett's kid?

All of those with the exception of a very undersized Winfield were 4* and 5* recruits. Winfield ended up putting on 14lbs and grew an inch and had a huge AA SR season, which parlayed into a 2nd Rd Draft pick.

Maybe he’s just a late bloomer. Put some good weight on him and he becomes Bus #2. Wouldn’t be the first position change that worked.

Genes!!!!! Who knows!!!!!
Which postion? Safety? He's close to 6'3 so the backfield is not an option

It’s Jerome Bettis’s kid you dumbasses. It’s not Anthony Vernaglia or Dwight Ellick’s kid. And he’s a solid 3star who’s got the genes.

You don’t tell Bettis’s kid no OR that he can pay his own way lol.

No one will disparage the name of our only 4 star in 2004 in my presence.
I remember 19-year-old Colin having a near panic attack when Anthony was flirting with other schools because *one four-star recruit* was *the only thing* to be optimistic about.

Young ND fans who think this program is underwhelming don't understand how danger deep in the mud we were under Ty.

Did we not do the same thing with Joe Montana’s kid?

I remember this with Montana's kid....As long as we lock up 2-3 SOLID 4* minimum guys then bring on Bettis.

If he commits tomorrow 2/3's of ND fans will say we should've left him in the Pot of Hold until every better WR prospect plays out.
Which would be VERY true because unlike other schools competing for 'Chips if the legacy recruit isn't ELITE then either they wait or the school is already stockpiled with 4*/5* talent! Just look at Ohio St, 'Bama, Georgia, or even LSU's WR depth charts.

Maybe Marcus wants to use Kirby's formula of signing a 3* GA WR to win a natty?

Ahh, yes. I forgot the two teams in the championship last year were stockpiled with 5 star talent.
