Data has been skewed mainly in recent years because of defunded police, left-wing DAs, and left-wing rioting. People will pretend St. Louis became more dangerous because of a carry law than defunded and handcuffed police.
This was before 2020. A lot of his initial book was based off of data where quite unlike states put different concealed carry laws into effect (Montana/NY). As more states passed these laws or weakened training provisions the results changed.

When you specifically look at more legal gun ownership in a state without regards to concealed carry you generally come out to more guns more crime (adjusting for a bunch of demographic factors.)

I’m not sure how I feel about it. A lot of young gang violence and parents are aware their child has a gun and an active gang member. Would hate to see parents start getting locked up but maybe it will force parents to parent.
Would love to see that too, especially in the cities plagued by violence. But this country has two systems of justice. No way they choose to prosecute parents in Chicago, but for sure in rural Michigan. To be clear, I’m fine prosecuting both- if and when negligent.

Defendant: "Your honor I have no idea who this is."

Judge: "Sir that is your son."

Defendant: "And??"

This reminds me of a conversation I was having with some local advocacy groups. As unpopular as it might be I wish there was better support for kids with parents who are incarcerated. But that’s a convo for another day.

We were talking about absent parents.

Those parent have to try in the first place. Which they don’t because they are locked up.

More of this, please.

Then, when she and her husband gave their son a semi-automatic handgun as a gift in the days before the shooting, prosecutors said, neither of them properly stored it.

On the day of the shooting, after the Crumbleys had been summoned to the school because of a disturbing drawing of a gun made by their son, the parents didn't tell school officials he had access to a weapon or take him home.

I doubt this is going to make parents like this change. They probably don't watch or read the news.

“Properly stored it” as required by law? I have questions on this. Most gun owners who have one in the home prefer to have it quickly accessible in case it is needed.

Also- in a country where very few have any confidence in the news because of our garbage media, lots don’t watch the news.

I agree. But it’s not the kids fault.

These are the parents that love court TV but they just think their kids and themselves are different. But we all do to some extent.

This is what I asked myself too. I’d believe there would have to be some negligence law that would go into effect in this case.
They bought the gun for him without basic education on a firearm.

Not only did they buy the gun the kid was a walking red flag. He asked them to get him help and the mom laughed it off and the dad told him to suck it up. The school warned them that he was looking up ammo and writing concerning notes and they ignored the school.

100% on the parents but I also question the school for not making calls themselves if they didn’t. Schools can’t force an issue but CPS and police intervention could.

The kid is always a red flag. It’s always obvious in retrospect.

Well this one was clear beforehand. He was making drawings of guns and dead bodies. He wrote a note about hearing voices and seeing blood everywhere. He had no friends and the only one his parents even knew had moved away. He asked his parents to get him help and instead they bought him a gun.

This is the most concerning part. If your child is hearing things and you don’t help them then you are part of the problem. That’s not normal.

Just like the Perry, Iowa shooter, we have another radicalized trans teen with a gun. This one is from El Salvador with Free Palestine written on the gun.

Mental illness. I'm not sure how shooting up a bunch of people in Iowa helps to "free Palestine."

How fucking brain broken you need to be to been so horned up on the possibility someone is trans in a shooting lmao.

Not the persons history of mental health issues, that she purchased it legally, or those types of things. "Show me the shooters vag! I need to conduct my genital inspection before any assessment of the matter".

Please get laid, focusing on what everyone else has down stairs will melt your brain lol.

Wow, admitting we have a gun problem is real growth!
Not a gun problem. Also- all of this is illegal. We need guns now more than ever. We have wide open borders with gangsters and criminals from around the world flooding our country, defunded police departments, Prosecutors who are weaponizing the justice system, and cities where criminals run wild. Add the increase in mental heal challenged trans people who are driven to violence, my appetite to reduce the access to guns is less than ever.

Wait, if trans people are committing shootings.....does that mean......that there should be controls on their access to guns.....wait, imagine the progress that could happen if we extrapolate it to those nasty urban folks (gross!).....ok now we're cooking.......wait a sec......if we do that....then the libz will take our guns!?! Ok ok ok, never mind, thoughts and uhhh prayers?

You best not be teaching anymore calculus to cats! Cuz duh cats will say something like "Early stats show a drop in almost every serious crime, except auto theft" they'll try and use biased sources like "Christian Science Monitor or FBI", not you smart guy, you argue with facts and reason NOT emotion! Huzzah!

Glad you broke your silence since the NYT Debunked your dumb trans suicide theory.

If these kids had MAGA hats and NRA shirts, you wouldn’t be running to denial. Our cities have gone nuts. Nice try. They don’t arrest people, they don’t prosecute people, the stores are getting ransacked, and the cities are the Wild West.

Trans suicide? What?

Denial? Lmao whether or not a shooter is trans should not change your position on guns. I'm laughing at you for jumping to talk about this shooting like you're a serious person "We gots to do sumthin about da tranz!", when there's shootings everyday but ehhhhhh that's just because the teacher didn't have 6 glocks or the mall security should have a silenced AK.

Who cares lmao shootings will continue until more guns are given out or something like that.
