From the article:

During the AFCA Convention earlier this month in Nashville, at FootballScoop's annual meet-and-greet, peer personnel leaders from college football shared with FootballScoop that Bowden had emerged on the radar of some SEC programs in need of new personnel direction, with one source directly telling FootballScoop, "We have to pay attention now to who Notre Dame is recruiting. We didn't used to have to do that."

The executive credited that awareness to the Bowden-Freeman duo.
Yeah, we'll see how the SEC boosters like this after a while. "Who Notre Dame is recruiting" is going to be the kids that don't care how much money you throw at them. They're still coming.

Keep in mind not that long ago Notre Dame was recruiting the Keon Keeleys, Dante Moores and Peyton Bowens of the world. They pivoted because they saw the writing on the wall.

I think he makes a lot less than you all think. This is a job valued similar to a position coach… maybe that’s changing, but he was not making $500k+ last year I promise you that.

Yeah I'd be betting he was somewhere 200-300 last year. People don't appreciate how much the money ramps up at the coordinator (and obviously HC level) compared to position coaches and support staff. That's why I wasn't particularly shocked when I heard that Michigan offered to double his salary. Doubling the salary of a support staffer for a program like ND or Michigan is a rounding error.

Director of Recruiting is by far the lowest paid salary on most, if not all, football staffs across the country.

Alabama's DRs salary in the 2022-23 season was 165k. In contrast to the rest of their staff (for 2022-23):

DC Pete Golding: $1.73 million
OC Bill O'Brien: $1.1 million
AHC/WR Holmon Wiggins: 850k
ADC/S Charles Kelly: 850k
CB Tarvaris Robinson: 800k
DL Freddie Roach: 750k
RB Robert Gillespie: 565k

Yup, exactly. Coordinators usually make 2x-4x the amount that the position coaches do. Position coaches usually make 2x-4x what high level staffers and analysts do. Most guys in an analyst roll are making $50k-$200k depending on their credentials.

I could easily see someone’s salary ballooning upwards if their responsibilities expand to include much more than just football recruiting, but as a Director of Recruiting he was likely making low six figures just based on market rates.

That's what I'm saying. I am thinking 500k now, not before all this.

According to Holland Bowden was Michigans 3rd choice lol 😂
I call BS! Ask Holland to supply some articles, text or posts talking about the first two who turned them down.

So in Brice's article it says Bowden was taught how to recruit by Brian Mason...

I think Mason might be the most competent coach we've ever hired
Agree, which is why I will be writing his name in for President come November.

The only comment I saw EJ make was "Keep those weirdos in South Bend". Buddy needs a mirror
Yeah he's spouting his usual shit anytime Michigan misses out on something. "It's interesting that this only came from the ND guys. Obvious leverage play by Bowden"

So they went from, "Moore refuses to accept no here", to "Moore was never all that interested".

Or maybe Moore isn't as "Freeman-esque" as captain Starbucks wants to believe.
