A Golden/Taylor safety tandem would be incredible. Both are just so versatile. Their ability to run and play man would give the defense a lot of options.

Golden being pursued as a CB.
He can play cb and be a stud there, but imo, you want him at safety so he can't be avoided/game planned out of a game.

He'd be a great corner, but more impactful at safety.

Agree. I’d love to see him at safety. I think we have enough high-end depth at corner that that room is in great shape. Safety, on the other hand, needs his type of athleticism to match the corner room. We could have an elite secondary into the foreseeable future. Irish recruiting is bonkers right now.

There’s not a whole lot of information in this article, as it states most coaches are headed back home today. But I’ve noticed a trend with these daily updates on who the coaches are visiting. They still invest a bunch of time on the guys who are already committed. I think that’s a big reason why decommittments are infrequent and the ESP has been relatively drama free. Freeman mentioned relationship building in his ESP presser and he clearly wasn’t lying.

It’s kinda like the workforce world. You treat the employees you have well they stay, you don’t they leave.

I've been playing around with recruiting, the roster, etc. in a spreadsheet to give an updatable forecast of the class/roster as changes occur.

For those more in the know, any changes I should make, especially regarding the "Likely Commits" (bright green) and "Dream Class" (pale green)? At this point, I've assigned these only based on reading IE.

I'm interested to see how the projected class shapes together over time. I've updated it every couple of weeks or so.

May need to find another TE to replace Cure based on recent news but other than that, I'm here for all of that!

Figured we would get 2-3 guys announcing during or after Jr and all crickets last week

My reads

Bettis Jr - they're rightfully slow playing

Taylor - too elite to tie up already but in a good spot

Plaxico Jr - too early in process for a verbal to mean much anyways

Lange- See Plaxico Jr

Strebig - Probably basically have him already but he likes going on visits

Augustine - Might be slow playing or maybe too early in process. Not sure haven't followed him too close

Shanklin - Don't like where this one sits. Think he's just waiting/hoping for better offers rn

Jok brother - Way too early and I don't really think him visiting is too much of a positive sign but I guess its better than him not visiting

Zachery - Probably feel similar as to Shanklin situation

Golden - Too elite like Taylor

I think the pundits predicting verbals thought they'd take Bettis Jr by now and they probably thought there was a good chance Lange would be a pop on the visit type of guy

I'm also not sure why but a lot of the pundits seen unjustifiably confident that ND will land Golden and Zachery. I also think Devin Williams ( know he didn't end up visiting) is a Caleb Downs type thing where he says all the right things and visits but its probably a little bit unrealistic get in the end

I'd be ecstatic if they eventually landed Lange, Stebig, Zachery and Shanklin out of the group

Any of Taylor, Golden, Jok little brother, or Williams would be gravy

I think you’re severely underplaying and underestimating the job this staff has done with the 2025 group. Loy, who is as trustworthy as anyone on the recruiting beat, said their are multiple commits that haven’t gone public yet.

Predictions in bold on who we land. Almost included Plaxico, but don't know WR board

OLM usually commit early so I’d be a little concerned if Lange doesn’t pop soon. Augustine might be getting slow played. Strebig seems like he doesn’t fit the OLM “commit early” stereotype.
