I agree 100%. As we all remember on here, SI Swimsuit issue was a cultural phenomenon that put women on a pedestal b/c of their physical beauty. So there’s zero wrong w/ the appearance of that young woman and I’m sure many men would be proud to have a girlfriend/wife that looked like her.
It had its niche and then they felt the need to expand it to women who looked attainable and far from perfect. That’s fine but don’t be surprised if the viewership complains when they’re used to seeing unattainable beauty that they can only fantasize about.
Now if that look was what was the majority of men desired, then that’s who SI should promote to maximize their ultimate goal…profit via advertising revenue. But deciding to manipulate that w/ their own opinion of what a “supermodel” should look like is where they lose their core audience. As Bud Light learned, know your core audience. Was it silly for Bud Light enthusiasts to “boycott” it? Sure…if you like the beer, drink the damn beer. But at the end of the day, people vote w/ their pocketbooks. But SI can do what SI wants & let the chips fall where they may. I wish them luck.
