Send Fields to Pittsburgh please
If the Colts hadn’t gotten AR I would love to see what he could do in Shane Steichen’s offense with the Colts OL and run game…but we’re already hitched to the AR wagon at this point.

I thought he looked pretty decent pre injury. Steichen was clearly the mastermind behind that Philly offense, which was a wagon. Indy should be in good hands.

The talent is there, durability is the biggest hurdle for AR at this point.

I saw a mock that was “hook this shit to my veins” worthy:

#1 to NE for #3, 3R, 4R, 2025 1R, 2R

#3 to ATL for #8, 3R, 5R, 2025 1 R, 3R

I would crap myself if they had 8 and 9 this year, and 3 high firsts next year, which would be probable

#3 starts to look tempting if MH Jr is staring back at us. Trading down to #8 and taking Odunze as a consolation prize doesn't suck though.

Williams and Maye are not generational guys. If you can get that kind of haul for the number one pick, do it. That's incredible.

Draft a QB every year, bring him to camp and let them all compete. Every damn year. Doesn't have to be in the first three rounds. Just draft a QB and get him into the mix every camp. Leave no stone unturned.

100% - four first round positional players versus one crapshoot at QB, plus a few mid round guys to boot. NE Rd 3 this year is effectively a late 2nd round pick, always some names that drop unexpectedly - they have so many areas of need they could capitalize here.

This year with 8/9 they could be getting the #1 player at two different positions. That NE 3rd round pick likely has lots options for upgrades at G and possibly the #1 C still on the board.

This is where I’m at. Unless there is an Andrew Luck or a Manning type guy I’m trading out of a top pick for more draft capital. You still need to hit on the extra picks of course. Take some guys in the later rounds, you’ll eventually get someone.

I keep coming back to this, and it really isn't that much about Fields as it is just getting more picks. You've had the number one pick two years in a row. Go get another big haul this year like you did last year. Bring in the young help via the draft.

I don't know any Cardinals fan who liked his offense by the end of Kliff's tenure

I just don't see this one happening, but who knows. Kingsbury is really a strange story. He gets the Texas Tech job, doesn't do anything with that other than "Patrick Mahomes", then somehow lands an NFL job in Arizona predicated off of that. Hangs out with Lincoln Riley at USC for a year.

They're interviewing a lot of candidates, first. Second, they can begin the probe on Caleb Williams. I highly doubt this is some kind of request or demand from the Williams camp, and if it is, I think it's utterly ignorant for any franchise to get bullied into picking someone. Or not picking them.

This draft process is going to reveal a lot about Caleb Williams in terms of character and intangibles. I think we'll come to find that while he does have talent, he's also got baggage. They can pick Kliff's brain a bit since he was around him this past season.

Kingsbury's history as a coach also includes Manziel and Baker Mayfield. That's a trio of three star recruits who hit big.

The Cardinals probably hired him solely because they had the number one pick in the draft and figured that even if he sucked as a head coach he would do a good job developing the guy they picked.

I guess we'll see how smart the Bears brain trust really is.

And how'd all this turn out for everyone involved, exactly?

Kingsbury made a lot of money, the Cardinals made the playoffs 1 year out of four, and have a serviceable but unimpressive starting quarterback.

I'm not stumping for Kingsbury. I think the Bears are doing this for appearances.
GM Steve Keim got fired too.

Kingsbury's career trajectory is so weird, it's hard to know what his next step is. G5 head coach? P4 OC? NFL OC? He doesn't seem like a bad guy, just somebody that's really rose up fast and crashed down hard. It's hard to know what Arizona was thinking when you consider all of the more qualified people they could have hired for an NFL head coaching job.

I think the Bears doing fact finding is a part of it and due diligence. I hope they don't go here for a variety of reasons.

Shane Waldron is the new OC. Multiple outlets reporting it.
My favorite fact after reading a couple of articles is this one from ESPN : "Seattle's offense ranked 17th in points per game (21.4) and 21st in yards per game (322.9) in 2023. The Bears were 18th (21.2) and 20th (323.2) in those categories, respectively."

All eyes on who fills the other offensive spots on the staff now. A lot of assumptions that Seattle QB coach Greg Olson is coming with Waldron.

9 candidates were interviewed last week: Waldron, Kliff Kingsbury, Greg Roman, Thomas Brown, Klint Kubiak, Greg Olson, Zac Robinson, Marcus Brady and Liam Coen.
