Official visit set for Jan 6-7
Notre Dame hasn't officially offered yet.
Will official to Mich St right before.
Michigan offered too and they are setting up an official as well
Heard visited once or twice during his recruiting process but ND passed.
Same HS as Kareem and Ovie.
Plays Slot Corner & Safety ..... Started 27 games over the past 3 seasons

ISD says they think the staff sees Clark in a Harper role and Heard in a traditional safety role.

Especially with Priester’s eval, I would think Heard would be the nickel and Clark the safety….oh well they need another DB and hopefully slide Lewis to Safety. It’s the last glaring position of need on the 2024 team.
Really damn weird that anyone puts in picks for Michigan or pretends they are at all a player for anyone. They are playing for a pretendy championship with a very murky future. No recruit with options can sign up for who knows whats gonna happen.

Heard played a similar role at NU at times that DJ Brown played at ND.
I would fully expect heard and shuler to be the one safety spot and then Watts, minich, talich the other spot. I hope we're good enough to not need lewis, but if not he would round out the depth chart then you get on the fast track developing Bruntae Johnson as someone to challenge minich starting for the 25 season. I see minich as a solid depth piece but not someone you want to start for a season.

Yeah, ISD is pumping out a lot of Heard content recently, which tends to insinuate that he's probably coming here.
If it weren't happening, then the staff would pretty much stop posting anything on it, like with Joshua Kelly post-visit.
Not sure how good a safety he'd be, but I have to imagine he can do better than Brown did as a starter. I'm really hoping to see jumps from Shuler, Minich and hell, Talich.

I don't think they see minich/Talich especially next year in a type of role they had brown in last year. He had a lot of run game responsibilities at times (and he did awful at those). I don't see minich and talich being ready for that type of role.
Like you said, you'd have to think heard could play as good or better than Brown did if he can play as assignment correct.
Shuler has the elite physical traits you want in the position, just needs a lot of development.

I don't think they're going to be read, nor do I expect them to be. I just want to see progress.
Shuler on the other hand, I really hope he is fighting for a starting job, because I really think he has elite potential. And I don't think he's that far away from it either. He always pegged me as a guy who was very athletic, but also very technically proficient. He was very underrated IIRC.

I'm not sleeping on Talich, given O'Leary's comments. Big kids who run like that don't come around often. The fact that he was on run teams as a skinny true freshman walk on reinforces that.
Wouldn't surprise me if he jumps the line opposite Watts.

I feel like I can read Loys tea leaves pretty well, and IMO he's already Irish just waiting to announce. Just my interpretation which I feel strongly about.

Agreed. He also made a comment about expecting more good news this week which I assumed was Heard.
I thought he was put on during the season but I can't remember when. Could be entirely making this up.
Also Trieu has completely walked back his "Michigan lean" comments. I'd say this dude is Irish
