I think the argument could be made this year was better than 2012. That year there were teams ND was not equipped to compete with. I dont feel like there is a team that could run through this defense like Bama did in 2012. Next year could very well be even better.
MFMF doesn't have a problem playing underclassmen, and I wouldn't believe Golden would argue if the talent is there... if anything, the Irish will have depth and that relates to the D being fresh..... especially if the O is stagnant at times in the game.

While I agree with every word you said, was this really intended to be a reply to anything i said? Very valid and accurate comment but seems almost like a separate conversation point 😂

Huge news DL is gonna be loaded and possibly 15 deep young guys are gonna be hungry to get snaps I hope they rotate like crazy next year. I wouldn’t play any of the true Freshman unless needed save them a year. You got guys like Onye and Ford who I woulda thought woulda made a jump this year

IDK if Golden recruits but players sure want to play for him and that's something.

I think Golden’s coordinating of defense will make up for any deficiencies in recruiting
You say that but a few were disappointed with Sneed being slow on reads and being out of position early in the year. There’s a reason he didn’t play over the seniors and following yesterday’s game, he’s still suspect.

Captain Xavier Watts.

Absolutely love his story. WR turned Bronco Narguski winner. Any player struggling to make it at one position should absolutely embrace the opportunity to try another position out.

It’s never too late.

This defense is going to be special next season with the return of Xavier, Cross, Mills, Botelho and Kiser.

Throw in the addition of KVA and the hope that Sneed can flip the switch.

Better than 2012??

Legit is probably my favorite player we’ve had since Kyle Hamilton went down with injury. Greg Flammang at ISD was taking since mid season that his 2023 was as good as any safety season for an ND player that he’s seen.

I suppose the powers that be do not anticipate him being among the best safeties this year.
I’m glad we have watts, he had unreal turnover amounts last year. But I don’t believe he graded out as high as some. What’s awesome is he has a lot of room to grow. Especially tackling and man coverage. He could have a better year than last year but not have the flashy turnover stats.
Pff is all about grades
