I have less care about the outcome of this bowl game than any I’ve watched since I was a small kid. Got our extra practices, excellent. Passed that, the outcome matters so little I’m not even planning to watch the game live. I cared more about tracking down a free access to watch the Stanford game than this steamer.
I am actually more interested in the game than I would be if it was the same team that played through the season. We know that team. It was okay but a bit disappointing. If Sam was QB I’d probably be less likely to watch it than I am with Angeli at QB. Also getting to see more Faison, Jaghusa etc.

I sort of view this as an extra spring game. 15 extra practices, especially for the OL. That’ll be 60 practices before next year.
Not me. Spring games are garbage. This is going to be a full throttle game. 10 wins on the line or a humiliating loss potentially.

I want the win. I know MF does, too. Regardless of the relevance of it, it shows progress (on paper) from year 1 to year 2. ND was 1-3 vs currently ranked teams this year. Both of the Sun Bowl teams are ranked but both are also depleted so it’ll likely be competitive.

TheirQB has 8 starts under his belt albeit from 2022. I think he’s completed one pass this year so hopefully he’s rusty. Their stud RB is out but the back up is capable. 6’2” and a load to bring down. WR is small but dangerous in space.

Gotta think Gino’s scheme will set Angeli up for success. Establish the run & draw up short, quick passes knowing OSU will be throwing the kitchen sink at the first time starter.

Just the amount of players not playing, coaching turnover, lack of preparation, crap bowl and lack of motivation is my guess.
the only one of those I agree takes away from this game is it is a crap bowl.

Faison's looking sharp in practice. I was at the last practice.
Edit: that last was a lie.

I'm getting both excited and nervous for this game. I think both on paper and following our recruiting as closely as I do that we have a very slight edge but I just read how Oregon State has some really good freshman linebackers in Chisom and Jordan ready to make a statement. The OSU coach was a really good linebacker for them back in the day and if there is any position they can prep for after all the opt-outs it is probably this one. I know this seems like just a high school practice game at this point but I'm not sure which side is the Varsity squad. I just don't want to lose to them again. It must be a small list of teams that we have never beaten in multiple attempts and I would like to take the Beavers off of it.

Shit I’m excited to get to watch the Irish play football one more time and see some of the young guys show what they can do. Enjoy the final opportunity to see a few guys and new beginnings for others. I hope Gino opens it up and lets the kids have some fun.
Agreed. Love what I saw last time ND played in the Sun Bowl in 2011. A throttling of Miami.

Thank god we got the site back up and running in time for this.

We may have a lot of new faces on the field, but once the game starts, I'm not going to be analyzing every play with a "If Alt had been in, we don't give up a sack", or "if Estime had been in we pick up that first down". LFG boys!

Tons of talent will be on the field!
Price and Love alone is worth the watch!
This game is going to be awesome!

Most will be already cued in to this, but please folks don't overreact either towards the new OLine OR our vet RBs if we don't just roll with our running attack. We KNOW that our RBs are good, but we know that Estime DID carry us in certain types of games. We might not excel in all of that in this odd situation. By next Fall, our OLine will (should) have gelled into a typical mauler-winner, and our coaching staff will (should) have adapted our running game to Love, Payne, Price. But it might be too much to ask it of THIS game. Seeing how far the staff has managed to bring on the change is why I'm VERY interested in the game. I'm glued to the line-of-scrimmage even more than usual this time.

Oregon St has zero to lose. I expect some fake punts/FGs + other shenanigans. And we all know they will be selling out to pressure Angeli. Hopefully fans don’t expect him to be as successful as he was in mop up duty this year (of course…besides that last pick he threw)

ND has no Sam Hartman, no Tyree, no Flores, no Merriweather, no Mitchell Evans, no Joe Alt, and no Blake Fisher. So, the passing game is going to be a complete mess. ND will have to try and win this game by protecting the ball and playing excellent defense.

Oregon State is surely well aware of this and is going completely sell out against the run. It's gonna be some ugly football. I can't wait.
