You're saying his uncle is black
You're saying his uncle is black
I just don't see this signing moving the needle. Three years in a row that we've gone out and signed quarterbacks for 1 year and no difference and you think this is the guy...lol
In a 12 team playoff they certainly have a playoff roster. The coaching staff needs to step up to match the talent. It's a huge recruiting win for Freeman and staff. Whether the production matches the recruiting victory, continues to be the question for this staff.
I still can't get over that he could have been an NFL draft pick
But ND injured him, and now got him...
Oh the irony
Devine intervention
The guy is a master of disguise. We could probably put him on staff and nobody would know.Looks like we are playing the game with the big boys now NIL wise. Only thing we need is a Stallions clone and we are set!!!
It's almost like Tommy Rees was a failure as a QB recruiter/developer at Notre Dame.Wrong.
They didn't sign one last year and ended up going 8-4 with Drew Fucking Pyne most of the season. Jack Coan, Sam Hartman, and Riley Leonard will prove to be massive upgrades over what they had on the roster and w/o them, the record will indicate mediocre seasons that are good enough to get head coaches fired.
Yep, and Freeman made the big mistake of trusting Tommy that they didn't need a grad transfer heading into 2022. Thankfully he has learned from that. It's almost like Tommy Rees was a failure as a QB recruiter/developer at Notre Dame.
I think you misspelled Brian Kelly. Rees brought in Hartman, Minchey, and Carr once BK left, and then turned Milroe into a Heisman contender at Bama. It's almost like Tommy Rees was a failure as a QB recruiter/developer at Notre Dame.
tbf, Brian Kelly turned his qb into a heisman winnerI think you misspelled Brian Kelly. Rees brought in Hartman, Minchey, and Carr once BK left, and then turned Milroe into a Heisman contender at Bama.
Tommy definitely deserves his share of the blame for the shape of the QB room with Buchner/Pyne. But let's not forget who was ultimately responsible for the poor recruiting. Tommy wasn't the one who said ND had to shop down a different aisle. It's almost like Tommy Rees was a failure as a QB recruiter/developer at Notre Dame.
He did, but he also walked into a pretty decent situation from a roster standpoint. Coach O could recruit, he just wasn't great with the X's and O's. LSU is great from a lazy BK standpoint, he doesn't have to leave the state for much of their talent.tbf, Brian Kelly turned his qb into a heisman winner
^^This^^ - and to add... Rees > Kelly in the sense of having the mindset to change QB starter with abilities over loyalties....I think you misspelled Brian Kelly. Rees brought in Hartman, Minchey, and Carr once BK left, and then turned Milroe into a Heisman contender at Bama.
siap - When can RL join the team? Can he be like Carr and join for Bowl practice?
Most people are happy about Leonard here I think. I've probably pushed back the most, and only because I'm not sold. He had one decent year last year, then this year was marred by injuries. People are expecting playoff next year, but I'm not seeing why we should expect more than what we got from Hartman this season (Even with the expansion to 12 teams). Hartman had at least 2 seasons at Wake that were far better than any Leonard had. There's also the fact we're going to be playing a lot of new guys next season. Leonard will likely be guaranteed the starting spot and I kind of want a QB competition next year between Angeli, Minchey, and Carr.I really don't understand the view point of all the people that are complaining about ND going to portal to get a QB. I've seen dozens of people in chats and forums say that going to the portal will cause guys to leave. So say we didn't go to the portal and Angeli was named the starter...he's a guy who is perceived not to have NFL talent so he would be at ND for 3 years. Do people really think that Carr or Minchey will transfer sitting behind Leonard for a year but wait it out for 3 years behind Angeli? Would Angeli stay if Minchey was named the starter? And if it was Carr, you risk both Minchey and Angeli leaving because they're not waiting 3 years to start. Bringing Leonard for one year was the right move. Next year you let Minchey and Carr compete because you'll have Deuce at least if one of Carr or Minchey leave. You don't want a 3 year starter at QB with the portal because talented QBs aren't waiting that long and it could hurt depth and recruiting. I think that's what happened with Ian Book.
Without a doubt, and in case anyone didn't notice, there are some carpet pissers on this board.Cause people will bitch about anything. Oh...its sunny and 90....its too fucking hot. It's cloudy and 40...oh its too fucking cold. Oh hey let's roll into 2024 with a qb that has played in garbage time....fuck no....go get the best qb this day and age and roll with it. With the portal now if someone wants to leave....sorry
IF Riley wins the QB slot.... OL will still be the '?'...and ParkerMost people are happy about Leonard here I think. I've probably pushed back the most, and only because I'm not sold. Here's the thing: I don't expect us to be ready offensively next season for a playoff run, especially if we're rolling with Parker at OC. I'd rather get someone experience that we know will be here in 2025 and build a rapport with our young WRs.
And you know MF did his homework because of all the game tape they watched leading up to the Duke game. Not to mention, probably have a good idea of his weaknesses. It's a huge recruiting win for Freeman and staff. Whether the production matches the recruiting victory, continues to be the question for this staff.
It was reported (mostly Driskell) that in fall camp there was a lot of RPO used.Has Porker ever ran RPO? I assume that's our new offense with Riley. Kind of a big deal that no one's talking about.
I tend to agree. Everyone was rock hard for Hartman, too, and it turned out he was the mid ACC guy he was before.I just don't see this signing moving the needle. Three years in a row that we've gone out and signed quarterbacks for 1 year and no difference and you think this is the guy...lol
Which is why I am not 100% blaming/out on Parker. This was not his offense. It was what Freeman wanted to run.It was reported (mostly Driskell) that in fall camp there was a lot of RPO used.
But obviously, that didn't happen much this year.
But indications are that Parker wants RPO and Freeman does (did?) not.
