Absolutely not. That is not fair to Lenzy at all. He busted his butt and tried. He didn’t have a qb who could get him the ball. Merriweather is probably the most lackadaisical wide receiver I can remember in 30 years

Lenzy was very raw when he got here. He could block very well but he struggled to catch the ball.

He comes from an uber competitive family. Disappointed and surprised that it came to head here yesterday with what was him seemingly giving up on plays. That likely won’t sit well when the coaches watch that back. However, I hope he sticks around and tries to grow, mature, and develop his game.

I hope this works out for ND & him

BUT

If I were him with the current writing on the wall, I'd be hightailing it to UDub (assuming they'd take him). The top of their room is turning over. Not getting an ND degree isn't that huge of a loss with a UDub degree in Washington/Portland.

OR

Maybe he's more of a Wazzu level product. Good system, great QB if he stays, probably next man in will be successful too, less total talent in the room. Think I'd stick it out for my ND degree here though. Wazzu is definitely not UDub.

You actually think he could cut it at Wazzu let alone UW? We have probably one of the worst receiver rooms in p5 college football, and he is getting passed over. Seriously he is closer to Jordan Johnson and juco than high level football

The issue for Tobias is not the guys ahead of him on the depth chart, though. No one in our WR room is keeping him off the field. The issue is his ability to make the most of his talent and earn his way onto the field. That's going to be an issue anywhere he goes.

To your point lucci it better fucking not sit well with the coaches or they better be relieved of their duties as well

While that didn't help, let's not pretend Lenzy wasn't raw AF coming in. Literally a track star learning to play the position.
Tobias is crushing Lenzy's sophmore stats as a soph himself!! lol, say that in jest.

I'm just dumbfounded as to how we are using our wrs, pretty much every single one of them.

I thought he had the best catch last night; a really nice hands catch on a slant, in traffic. He quietly put together quality back to back performances. Very slowly but surely, the light might be coming on for him.
Agreed on the snag and in a weird way for how that game played out—it was at a critical moment.

I thought the same thing. Strong hands, plucked it away from his body and held on through contact. I think the lightbulb might be coming on. It was much slower than we had hoped but now I want to see him stack good days.

He could be such a threat next year if he can grind all offseason.

Needs to hit the jugs machine like Tyree did last offseason and maybe consider adding 10 lbs of muscle and trying boundary
