The overrating of McCarthy is laughable.
Michigan is winning with a combination of winning up front, a piss-ass easy schedule and a little help from their friends in the stands.

And today they almost lost despite being gifted 14 points by OSU + refs. Ryan Day coached like a pussy until they were down 14-3.
Their team is not anything special, they play pretty good defense (nowhere close to what it was during the Stallions era, though) and have an elite OL with very good RBs. Their passing game is "fine" but they never really have to lean on it. They are certainly worse on paper than either Georgia or Bama, and it's going to be interesting to see who makes the playoffs. FSU is the "cupcake" team in consideration that doesn't really have the talent to compete but will get in on resume.

They are just really good at everything. Not overly reliant on a qb or anything. Defense, running, passing, special teams. Much worse on paper than OSU talent wise but a far better team. OSU was chasing all game long.

I've spoken to Naz elsewhere and others on this topic and I don't think we are dealing with a Carnell Tate or Kaleb Brown situation. All I know is JJ ended up at the school he liked the least of the Big 3 because they were the only one who offered.

The problem is there isn’t a clear top4. There are a few ND teams that could contend this year. It’s good for the game if it stays this way, ND just needs to turn that corner and stop sticking their toes in the football water and get a bit more serious.
Doesn't mean he isn't overrated. And they are overrated.
