A little too tribalistic thinking for my taste. Doubt that ever goes into MF’s recruiting pitches.

Not necessarily. This type of pathway to power and influence is a part of what many European/Catholic groups in the US understood and used to become upwardly mobile and gain a seat at the table.

It’s a good point. It’s insane that the SEC does not have any black coaches.

I don’t think MF cares about race. He runs an organization of all types. Only the best regardless of race.

Yeah, none of that screamed "Parker is back 100%". Could still happen, but something tells me that MF changed up the OC dynamic after the complete sh*tshow that was the Clemson game.

There are some differences between the situations with Elston and Parker, but whatever.

I've reached the point that I'd rather a new OC come in so that the bitching stops more than anything else, but man, be careful what you wish for these days.

My simplistic takeaway on this is that we’ve got to get better at eliminating the “head scratching” losses and get better at closing out close games but overall the product on the field is pretty darn solid.

They feasted on the poor teams but the offense crapped the bed against quality opponents. I take stats like these with a huge grain of salt.

Agree. I read it like there would be some changes. 🤞

I'll defer final judgement to see what Freeman actually does to improve the staff before next season, but...if he retains Parker specifically as OC, he should be on the hot seat. I know he won't be. But he should be.

I feel like that's most P5 teams, especially this year.
But ND isn't trying to be most P5 teams. We're supposedly competing for a national championship. How many teams in the running the for CFP this season would have performed the way this offense did against Clemson in that 4th quarter? How many would have waited until week 11 to lean on PA, motion, etc? Parker is in over his head. Everyone sees it.

Yet many posters on this board are desperate to hire coordinators from these places.
Yes, because it shows that coach is able to A.) Develop the most out of their players B.) Scheme the most out of their players or C.) Both. If ND's OC and UNLV's coaches are producing about the same, give me UNLV's coach all day because that dude is maximizing what he has available to him. Either way, it's clear Parker isn't capable of doing so.
