I hope the Chicago Bears stay away here. I think the price tag is enough but man the baggage this guy had BEFORE this was bad.

I just get the feeling that if he wants to escape to the NFL, some billionaire owner is going to be waiting for him with open arms to give him the out.
He supposedly has wanted roster control, which would mean that Poles would have to go as well (and I'm not thinking that is likely). Chargers, Washington, Raiders are all names I have seen thrown around as possible landing spots. Going to LA to coach Herbert would seem like a great situation for him.

Would the NFL be reevaluating his college resume in light of recent events? He won in San Francisco but they ran him off for a reason.

I'm not sure Harbaugh's NFL stock is going to be all that high.

He’s still better than a lot of the clowns who are somehow head coaches in the NFL

Because he's been right every year when asked about ND, saying they're not a title contender? He's been right.

You know, any old fool can say "_____ is not a title contender this year" and by season's end look intelligent. Insert any of the 128 FBS school names in the blank and you're guaranteed to be right over 99% of the time. Doesn't make you smart. Math.

He gets asked about a hanfdul of teams each year. Michigan, ND, OSU, and the 3 top SEC teams. As much as he's viewed as a Bama homer, there are times he says they won't be what they were in pre-season and the phone lines blow up. He does a good job of truly predicting what he thinks without outside influence. He's been right about ND everytime I've heard him.

They ran him off in SF because he wanted roster control and couldn't co exist with the front office.

It has to be a team that gives him control like Poodle has in Seattle. Harbaugh probably thinks he's entitled to it since he kicked Poodle's ass a few times in the PAC 12.

I’m not sure I agree that the B1G will want to react quickly. Reality is the entity that is the B1G is a business. Michigan is a $40 million asset if they make the playoffs. Does the B1G really want to jeopardize that?

Now, the schools of the B1G is a different conversation.

IDK, do you really want to upset OSU who's really uptight about this (and rightfully so)? If OSU jumped to SEC at any point it wouldn't shock me. If you have to appease two elephants, appease the one who has fairness on their side IMO.

We made the playoffs twice. That’s the very definition of being a title contender.
We had no shot of winning, we over achieved to get there. And these very well may not have been the years he said no about ND. It's not like he's asked about ND every pre season, and if so, says "no" everytime.

Find it weird seeing so many getting delight from this. Sign stealing happens every game in baseball. Big fucking deal.

That’s why these teams have dumbass signs and losers dressed up in purple, they know teams will try to steal signs.

We had no shot of winning because both times we were in the playoff we got matched up against generational teams. I think the ND playoff teams would be competitive against this years CFB playoff.

Ok even if that is true, no team has ever been caught so blatantly and red-handed as these fucking idiots just were. They should rightfully vacate their wins since the evidence is all right there.

Its also just sooooo good this is happening to Michigan of all teams.

If you're a baseball guy...is what the Astros did okay?

To many, they would accept learning to read signs on the fly is "part of the game". But in this case, Michigan intentionally broke the rules to get an advantage in regards to reading signs.

This is like the Astros though. There is sign stealing which is sanctioned cheating. And then there is using a camera and technology to get the signs, and then more technology to give the sign to the batter. That is BS.

If people can't accept that, then I question their moral compass.

No. If you can figure it out naturally in the course of the game. None of this T 2 stuff.

If a team can “steal” signs on the field or from the dugout b/c the other team is too lazy in concealing them, then I don’t see an issue. If a team is hooking up cameras, buzzers, etc like what was alleged, then that’s too far IMO. I mean if that’s ok, then let’s allow an opponent distract the pitcher or hitter w/ a laser pointer or something silly like that.

My question for the Astros is if it was all above board (maybe it was?), then why did AJ Hinch & Carlos Beltran lose their jobs along w/ Alex Cora being suspended for one year?

It wasn't. They gave players immunity to help the investigation. They got the max fine (5 million, lol) and lost 2 draft picks in 2020 and 2021. The MLB commissioner has stated that he regrets giving players immunity, which I believe signals to the populous that they were guilty of everything that was suspected. If I were a HOF voting member, I'd black ball them all. Same treatment as steroids.

Maybe we should have a separate thread for the signal stealing allegations? Because this is getting a lot weirder

Stalions graduated from the Naval Academy in 2017. During his time in Annapolis, he worked as a student assistant with the football team (curiously, this includes an overlap with the time his LinkedIn reportedly says he volunteered for Michigan). In the course of his conversation with the Power 5 student, which extended over about three weeks, Stalions would claim that shortly after graduation, he obtained a decade’s worth of high school national standardized test scores and GPAs for approximately 500 Midshipmen football players—data that he should not have been allowed to possess. He claimed that he simply went to the Naval Academy’s admissions office and “name dropped” coach Ken Niumatalolo. While he said the admissions office told him to delete the data the following day, Stalions was coy over whether he had and made clear that he used the data to inform his recruiting philosophy.

The Naval Academy neither confirmed nor denied that it had shared the data with Stalions.

“Individual data obtained through the Naval Academy admissions process, to include high school test scores and GPAs, is protected under the Privacy Act and not shared or made available outside the Office of Admissions,” a U.S, Naval Academy public affairs officer wrote in a statement to SI. “Any Naval Academy official who inappropriately accessed that data would be subject to criminal and civil penalties associated with the Privacy Act.”
