Playing devil's advocate, it could very well be Michigan's own signals for calling defenses.

A key difference between this and Northwestern and most other NCAA violations is that this directly hurt (and cheated) other programs that have just as much standing with the NCAA as Michigan does. It’s not internal to their program. There are victims with big-time influence of their own.

I made this point earlier, though not as well. While the moral crimes of this may not be as bad as NW's hazing and involve the type of money that gets thrown, illegally, at recruits. It will likely be treated far worse because the victims are the other power brokers of the conference. The schools that Michigan was cheating to get ahead.

While it may not be able to move fast enough to impact this season, in real-time. I would think they get crushed for this.

to point out how egregious it is, look at every single football player ALL giving the pointer finger to the sky repeatedly.....THEY ALL KNEW....when have you ever seen a college game and see all the players giving signs to the players in synchronized fashion....they obviously had been taught ahead of time

I could not handle the week to week if ND were in the Big Ten. Rational objective thought would be out the window. I'd want to win every game by 50 and I'd watch like I have a mortgage payment bet on every game.

My one thought is TCU. I’m beginning to conclude they never scouted their signals because it was so late in the season or maybe they just got cocky and didn’t think they needed TCUs but went all in on Georgias.

UM smashed OSU only for OSU to give Georgia a great game… only for Georgia to smash TCU. That playoff just seemed weird with how it all played out.

Exactly. That was something far more serious and horrific. Nothing really came of it in terms of punishment. They had Christian Hackenberg under Bill O'Brien. That's about the extent of it.

They could have taken down Miami multiple times, and Nevin Shapiro gave them more than enough cause to drop the hammer on that program, but they did not.

Yup, couldn't scout their signals in person because they didn't know they'd be playing them. By the time the matchup was announced there were no other games to scout / film in person.
