Fortuna on this week’s independent predicted Elko would be A&M’s head coach next year when ND travels to college station. That would make that game even more challenging
True but that may free up Riley Leonard to transfer to ND w/ Elmo gone. I’m pretty sure TAMU has a crowded QB room w/ their starter still eligible (isn’t he out w/ injury?). There’s not a lot of good QB that will be available in the portal after this season. Leonard my be highly sought after if Elko leaves.

I think Leonard has his eyes on the nfl. He was projected near the 1st round. I would imagine he will test well. I don’t think he’s worth a 1st round pick, but nfl gm’s may

Fortuna is a clown
I doubt you’ll get any disagreement on that from this board. What’s his connection to ND? He went to PSU but he’s always been on the ND beat In some fashion. Just curious if he grew up a fan like Ty Hildenbrandt.

I thought that earlier this season but think a lot of that smoke has cleared. Not saying you’re wrong but teams in need of a QB will be blowing up his phone if he doesn’t declare. He’ll be the belle of the ball.

I don’t believe he grew up an nd fan. His first job as a beat writer was covering ND for ESPN. I believe it was 2012. Trust me - not a huge fan of his. He’s pompous, and I don’t think he should be hosting an nd podcast. Elko to the Aggies would scare me though

I don't think they will fire Jimbo yet. Especially since it isn't hurting recruiting.

A&M has a lot of money but hiring Elko costs at minimum 120MM before they even give him a contract. 70+ left on Jimbo’s plus Elmo’s buyout is reportedly 50MM. That’s a lot of cash to throw around when Elko is likely not going anywhere.

Brain Ferentz is what I imagine a dingLberry or Putup’s offense would do. Ferentz was given all the chances life can afford and still was a dolt.

Well surprised Saban hasn't announced Rees will be sent back on the Bama plane back to ND......

You still don’t get how Rees is good and I don’t think you ever will. It’s ok ur not in the business
I'm no OC expert and I still question his recruiting eye for QB talent, but he did do a lot with what he ended up getting for himself and the O and he seems to be optimizing and developing what he has at 'bama. And he certainly would have done a much better job for ND this year than the current OC!

wonder who IU targets as next coach when Tom Allen gets fired after this season. don't know for sure that he will but still losing after a 5th or 6th season doesn't bold well for him in my opinion.

Yep. Knock Rees as a recruiter if you want. He made some errors in that department with us. But he has generally made the most of the talent at his disposal in any given season. He’ll be a very successful OC for a long time, IMO.

Yes, I should have qualified my comment with ... eye for QB talent in his early years as ND OC
