I had an amazing time watching it on my iPad next to my sleeping 3 year old and wife. I would imagine it’s only up from there.
Lol this was me. In a hotel room in Cincinnati just trying not to wake everyone up on JDs return.

I could see Freeman & Parker going to visit Nelson during the bye week, would be nice if they showed up at his high school game.

I almost knocked myself out hitting my forehead when we ran into the punter and on a few offensive calls.

I’ll say it’s 50-50 we flip him I think he’s torn
Gut feeling he has common sense and wants to jump aboard TE U! But his parents are all but trying to force him to Nebraska as lifelong fans...Gotta do what's best for YOU and your career with or without Football is what parents should be telling their kids.

Three possible angles here:
1. Flirting with ND to increase NIL value.
2. ND backup plan if things keep getting rough in Lincoln.
3. Considering flip to ND but not going to make a final decision until he has a reason to.

Sounds like he loves the ND staff and commits and appreciates what ND offers. But he’s getting a ton of pressure to stay home.

Seems like it will be a battle.

I still have some doubts that he’ll end up here, but one thing I’ve always wondered in these type of recruitments where it’s ND versus the home state school is why more kids haven’t gone to ND. You can always re-evaluate things after one year, and it’s much more difficult to transfer from another school to ND after one year than it would be to transfer to Nebraska from ND.

The beat tells me that Grad Transfers and Freshmen are the only two real avenues for transfers into ND, but it only ever seems to be GTs.

I don’t think taking freshman is a huge issue, provided they don’t take all joke classes. They went after Anthony Lucas and would’ve been able to take CJ Williams if they wanted him, and they were able to get Amir Carlisle and Alohi Gilman into school.

Admissions definitely needs to be more liberal with 2nd and 3rd year transfers who don’t have their degree. Outside of Brandon Joseph, I can’t think of a single player who was 3 years out of HS and didn’t have their degree that was able to transfer to ND. ND basketball was able to take a transfer from NW that was 2 years out of HS. If I were Freeman I’d go to the board and everyone involved with Admissions and tell them that the same thing needs to apply to football players. If ND basketball can take a kid 2 years out of HS, then football should be able to do the same thing. Otherwise, they look like total hypocrites. If he wanted to, Freeman should be able to tamper with David Bailey from Stanford and Riley Leonard from Duke and get them to hit the portal and through ND admissions no problem. Neither of them will have their degrees after this fall semester.

Correct, it's an issue when you can barely get Brandon Joseph into school from Northwestern.

Yeah. That's a cautionary tale if there ever was one. Play mediocre about 7 games then have a "knee injury" for the balance of the year including the bowl game. A. Gilman was rare. Non-grad transfer who could play. But he came for more "ND type reasons". Certain kids do get into ND, as the fans scream for, and usually show why it was a struggle to get them. BK beat his head against the wall with the Aaron Lynch's for years.

Nelson has yet to miss a Nebraska home game and will be in Lincoln on Saturday for the Northwestern affair.

Sounds done to me. Who wants to see Nebraska vs Northwestern???

Here's what a Nebraska commit (dad) can't say....."we looking at our options."

Can you imagine the pressure on this kid from everyone in the state when he "abandoning his commitment"? If he does flip to ND, he will do it publicly at the last minute. And then he can enroll early, getting out of the NE shitshow.

Who knows if he flips...but since he is committed to NE, he has to play it this way in order not to be public enemy number 1.

He certainly could be done.

Or possibly...

If you were thinking about flipping and ALL of the Nebraska fans/sportswriters were already kind of freaked out ....... would you:

A. Not go to the game (missing the 1st home game all season) and cause everyone to freak out even more where you would be faced with a barrage of questions and pressure.

or

B. Go to the game because you still like Nebraska a lot but will take some of the immediate pressure off allowing you time to continue to process everything.
