two immediate takeaways watching this:

1) Molly McGrath…sheesh
2) Bottom ticker - how in the world was Kentucky ranked #8 at any point last year?!
3) Wake Forest cheerleading talent is mediocre for a "southern" team.

My takeaways after watching a lot of Hartman highlights are

1. He’s a good QB obviously.
2. He relies on receivers to make plays, come back for footballs, throw back shoulder, fight for ball or adjust. He doesn’t have a monster arm and has trouble throwing the ball away. But he makes plays and his guys seem to know where he’s going with the ball and they can get to the football. Good relationship with receivers/timing.
3. He’s better than anything we’ve had in a long time.
4. Occasionally he throws a pass where you think, damn, that’s why he’s the all time ACC leader.

Agree with all this. The pocket presence and composure stands out to me big time. We haven’t had that at QB in forever and that was Book’s biggest weakness by far IMO

For me, Book’s inability to throw a quality long ball was an absolute palm to face problem

SEC East special
All part of the natural SEC circle-jerk.

Kentucky ended up beating an insanely overrated Florida team, and that got them from 20 to 8, only for Ole Miss to swoop in and beat them and then get embarrassed by LSU and then spiral out of control, losing four straight to end the year.

Really, the SEC was insanely top-heavy last year. It was Georgia, then Tennessee, then LSU and Alabama and then a bunch of really mediocre or downright awful teams. And really outside of Georgia, the rest weren't anything special. It was Alabama's worst squad in 14 years. LSU is basically remembered for beating a down Alabama squad at home, and then getting worked by a bad A&M squad and getting destroyed by Georgia. Tennessee had the memorable Alabama win (but again, down), and got embarrassed by South Carolina.

Homeboy looks like a NHL center on a 7 seed playoff team.

Dude doesn't need to be Jimmy, fortunately.

Agreed but he was Sam Darnold lite in that Clemson playoff game, seeing ghosts anytime Clemson took a step

For all of the success he has had a Wake and with what he has to work with at ND our offense this year can be explosive.

Buchner leaving was his choice (I was never sold on him anyways), too bad CJ Carr wasn't currently here to learn under Sam.

With Sam being Sam, our WR's have a chance to make big plays this year.

I know it isnt the same as being on the team and in the locker room but I feel CJ will be around the team a lot this off-season and during the season to still learn a lot from Hartman

I think Steve Elmer was at every home game the year before he enrolled at ND. It wouldn't surprise me if CJ was at every home game as well & to also help with recruiting.

I always wondered who Josh Brolin's favorite team was... now I know.

Was rolling with Audric as my #1 Guy this season until Sam pulled this stunt.

Good story by Sampson today. A few highlights:

“It’s a really unique circumstance for a guy to come in and gain the trust and respect of the locker room right away,” said linebacker Jack Kiser. “Sometimes when a big guy comes in there’s competition, there’s challenge and the locker room doesn’t gravitate to you right away. I don’t think that was the case at all with Sam.”

But it’s impossible to watch Notre Dame’s practices and not come away impressed with the command of the starting quarterback who appears to be as comfortable in his own skin as the head coach leading the program. There’s no hyper analysis of accuracy (Tyler Buchner), arm strength (Drew Pyne) or personality (Jack Coan). Hartman has checked all those boxes, filling both the measurable of a QB1 and the intangibles.
