I put ZERO stock into 247's rankings. The class rankings are really starting to look bad. I am not sure if we will finish in the top 12. Go look at 247’s top 247 and look at the schools still projected to the players available.

Posted this on page 15. Adding Lambert gets them to 262 which on average is 11th. With 6 months til signing day I find it hard to imagine they don’t sign anyone else that gets them to the 270 range yet again but TBD of course.
I agree. The only way to change it is to win. I give Freeman credit for recruiting at the same level as Kelly thus far, but he has to win with the talent on the roster as constructed, and get them drafted, if he is going to earn the trust of true difference maker prospects. It’s boring to say, but this is going to take a full 4 years before we see any returns — if we see them at all.The class rankings are really starting to look bad. Power is an idiot with Carr…A lot of the attention has been on Power and his abysmal ranking of Carr, but I'll be honest, 247's overall job this year has been some of the most amateurish scouting I've ever seen. Granted, it's been mostly across the board, but some of the rankings, just from ND's commits are inexcusably bad.
Bryce Young is an 88 and the 45th ranked DL recruit in the country, which...no. Bare minimum, he's a top 25 DL, and a top 200 overall. Prescod is an 88 and the 35th OT. There is nowhere near 34 better tackles in this class. You'd be hard pressed to find 10. Mullins is an 87, ranked 792 overall. Good lord. Rezac isn't even RANKED!
ISD has far and away the most credible rankings of any of these services. I legitimately do not trust 247 after Barton Simmons left. Their quality has dropped off catastrophically. According to Jamie and co. at ISD, ND is sitting at 16 4-stars out of 20, and it sounds like a good number of them are looking at decent bumps after their senior film comes out.
From their films, the only 3-stars I see are TBP, Sevillano and Urlacher. Rezac, Kahoun, Hobbs, Prescod and Knapp are on the fringe, but I'd put them in the low 4-star category. Mullins and Young, they're NOT EVEN CLOSE to that fringe. They are both top 200, arguably top 100 level players. The fact that recruiting services reviewed the films and still failed to see that just shows the blatant amateurism we're dealing with.
Not to be a Debbie Downer but we won a lot of games between 2018 and 2021 and have had a lot of players drafted (only four schools currently have more alums in the NFL) and it has not had that much impact on our recruiting. You’d think two CFP berths in three years would help more than jt did.I agree. The only way to change it is to win. We also need to finally look better on the field than we have during that stint, especially on offense. Del Vaughn Alexander and recent QB play have set us so far back despite our success in win percentage and playoff appearances. I can’t blame offensive skill position recruits for wanting to avoid our offense, and we’re probably easy to recruit against. Not to be a Debbie Downer but we won a lot of games between 2018 and 2021 and have had a lot of players drafted (only four schools currently have more alums in the NFL) and it has not had that much impact on our recruiting. Winning is, like, table stakes at this point. We need to ID and then land a higher percentage of the relatively small pool of Top 100-150 recruits who actually value the school part. That’s our competitive advantage (and I think Freeman is trying harder on that front than Kelly did).
And we probably need to figure out some way to offer NIL to recruits so that when we do find those kids another school doesn’t just buy them off.
I feel like we say this a lot. I swear 2024 was gonna be off the chain. It is off the chain, just in a bad way.Next year will be better. We are poised to have a top 5 class.

Don’t forget 2023 class… that class was legit until it wasn’t.I feel like we say this a lot. I swear 2024 was gonna be off the chain. It is off the chain, just in a bad way.
First in with … .86 3 star sounds right 🤦🏻♂️. Take that irishdrunk 🖕🏻 lolISD seems to think that Logan Saldate might be a name to look out for in the future to maybe get an offer.
5'11 receiver out of Salinas, CA. Very athletic and shows on film. Has great vertical and good catch radius in spite of his size.
But DAT vertical tho!First in with … .86 3 star sounds right 🤦🏻♂️. Take that irishdrunk 🖕🏻 lol
I mean to be honest i like speedy good hands in the middle receivers so I am not actually complainingBut DAT vertical tho!
Hoover, Alabama—One of the top linebacker prospects in the country, Hoover linebacker Bradley Shaw is nearing a decision and is focusing on just two schools as he prepares to announce sometime during his senior year with the Bucs. Those two schools are in-state rivals Auburn and Alabama.
The recent draft results seem to match this.I'm not very worried about LB. I think between the last two classes of both LB and sadly S recruiting. You have a lot of versatility in skillset amongst the group.
If we miss on KVA, I'm recruiting athletes and not necessarily another LB.
I'm not sure you could project Urlacher to an NFL - or high level FBS - safety at the present either. There is no way a serious person, could be project Urlacher to an NFL LB at the present.
He could be a very productive Sniper or hybrid player. But, there is little precedent for 5'10/5'11 LB's in the NFL.
You couldn’t project his father to low level FBS at this point in his life either.I'm not sure you could project Urlacher to an NFL - or high level FBS - safety at the present either.

Alt was a 245 lbs, low 3 Star TE at this point in his life.
Genetics matter.
This was Alt the summer going into his Sr year, just like urlacher is going into his sr year. Alt had the frame by now and was growing into it and a new positions, urlacher does not.You couldn’t project his father to low level FBS at this point in his life either.
