Just curious, why does this board think we need a 5*? Yeah 5* recruits are nice, but they don't fit ND & they all don't pan out.

When all is said and done, CJ Carr should be a 5*, that would be 2 for 2024.
Getting 5 stars not important because they don’t pan out.

Important to also note… we have 2 but they won’t pan out.

Lol

Why give a crap about stars and look to land top ten players at their position rated by the coaching staff and let them worry about it if its good enough.

Yes, TCU a team without 5 star talent beat teams that didn't have 5 star talent just like them. Then they played a team with a ton of 5 star talent and got obliterated.
TCU beat a scUM tean from annie whore arbor that was loaded with 4 star talent.

Why have three 5 stars when you can get five 3 stars… lol
Woah, woah, woah....3 5*'s when does ND say they've had enough 5*'s?

On a serious note- some of those 3*'s have panned better than the ranking.

So you don't think we should get 5 stars because they don't fit ND but you think CJ and Williams are 5 stars? Does that mean you think CJ and Williams don't fit ND?
Lol. We’re you dropped on your head as a child?

They're more likely to "hit." The success rate for 5-star recruits on the 247 composite from the 2013-2017 classes is 75%. By "success rate," I mean players who were either drafted or have played in the NFL.

2013: 27/35 (77.1%)
2014: 26/33 (78.8%)
2015: 26/37 (70.3%)
2016: 19/26 (73.1%)
2017: 25/33 (75.8%)
Total 123/164 (75.0%)
I’m sure there is a drop off with the 4* kids but I’m curious what that drop off would be broken down to 4* top 100, top 150, and so on. Just to see how far behind us poors are.

This is the data on the 247 composite for the 2013-2017 classes. Success rate is based on if they were drafted or have played in at least 1 NFL game. I broke it down for each 50 spots in the composite.

1-50: 70.8%
51-100: 44.0%
101-150: 34.0%
151-200: 30.8%
201-250: 24.4%
251-300: 25.2%
301-350: 20.8%

The average number of blue-chip recruits (5* and 4*) per class was 348. The success rate for blue-chip recruits so far is 36%.

That's interesting, because ISD just had their "intel" and said KVA leaning towards OSU, and even ND sources feel that way.

But then again, ISD hasn't had anything right all year so who knows.

He probably is. That's the safe bet. Loy's update simply shows he's still interested in ND and hasn't made a final decision. Idk why anyone would bet against OSU at this point.

they were the only ones calling for Carter Nelson to stay home to Nebraska over a week before it happened, meanwhile Roberts at IB was saying there was a big push for him to get out of state and Loy was saying it was Georgia or ND.

Mike said watch out for Nebraska, Matt or Christian didn't put Nebraska in his top 2, but acknowledged they were in it.
