Justin Scott would commit to a fly on the wall, that’s how much each visit affected him.
He loved ND early & wanted to commit. Freeman wouldn’t take it.
He visits Miami & loved it. He visited UGA and loved it. Then he decided he wanted to stay up north. He visited Michigan and was going to commit. Then he visited OSU, who wasn’t even in it, & Larry Johnson literally pressured him into committing.
OSU did the exact opposite thing ND did. They knew the kid was an easy push and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Freeman needs to figure these kids out. If he accepted Scott’s commitment back in January, UGA & Miami would have been fun trips for him but he wasn’t leaving the north. OSU and Michigan would never have happened.
He wouldn’t be able to tell Freeman no.
ND screwed the pooch on this one.
I think this is just the opposite situation. The first part of the analysis is spot on, the second part is off base.
Here’s a young man that sways like the wind (Which is ok, he’s 17). Freeman knew this would be a long process. If ND took is commitment, it still won’t be over. He would be dancing with Miami, UM, and OSU. This feels like Keely and Bowen, and Scott was just gonna keep looking and flirty and feeling the love everywhere he went.
When Freeman didn’t take his commitment, I believe he knew that Scott had only really started the process and would continue the dance whether or not he was committed. And I don’t think it’s over yet. Maybe he stays with OSU, but I think the drama continues right until signing day.
