Don't think it ever truly will honestly. You'll get some quasi national writer write a hit piece and everyone will move on eventually. People either love or hate ND already. Doubt this changes minds.
Agreed. It doesn't seem to hurt certain SEC schools.

IB have the backstory & they are pissed…

Evidently ND dropped him against his wishes.

He never waivered on his commitment and was an active recruiter for ND.

Evidently ND is looking to replace him with someone else that IB says, in their opinion, is not as good as Wafle.

Said it’s a really bad look perception-wise for ND in recruiting, especially in the New Jersey area.
Had him for a year, then decided they liked someone else better & told him he is out.

Why even process kids? Just oversign and let the portal work itself out because there’s going to be defections regardless.

If this is to swap him for Sevillano then I would really hate that move.

I think more likely they go for Sevillano and Scott. They wouldn't take Wafle, Sevillano, and Scott IMO. Wafle's knock may be he's pretty close to fully developed so he might be too small for what they envision at the position. Again, I don't agree with it, but looking at the possible rationale of the staff.

The Freeman hype machine is in full force on this one. ISD reporting this is actually good news.

Weird, he was quite the commitment not too long ago.

If we're processing players, I'm not sure why we're processing a player at a position we need 2-3 of and now have zero. Seems like an unnecessary risk. We'll see what they have up their sleeve.

I'm not a ISD subscriber. Are they generally sunshine pumpers?

It'd be nice to know who we're replacing Wafle with before deciding if this is a good move or not.

College football recruiting is a very dirty business. I don’t think I’d be as cordial as Owen if I got processed out, or whatever you want call it.

I've been a big fan of ISD for a very long time. But, they have the Freeman kool-aid on tap every day all day and it never stops being Freeman hype day.

Lately they've just been very willing to contradict themselves a lot if it makes Freeman look better.

Pretty freaking dumb if you're dumping a guy like Wafle for Scott. If Freeman thinks he's got Scott wrapped up he's even more naive than I thought.

I don't get dropping this kid, DL/DT is a huge need. Scott if I had to bet money won't end up here, Rushing is trending towards Oregon and TJ Lindsay is gonna stay home.

Is this supposed to be a gesture for Scott/Sevillano? If you don't land both of those guys you're going to expand the board and will the rest of the board be better than Wafle? Talented guys pop up at all times in the process (Hillman) but there is less time to adjust in the classroom if that is a problem (Hillman). So can you find a superior player of course but will they be a fit and committed to the university?

Note that ISD rated Owen a 91 and Sean Sevillano an 89.

And they're also saying this is a good thing. So if it's that, here's your receipt.
I think Sean Sevillano is more of a inside run stopper guy, Walfe was more of a tweener

Driskell is laying it all out there.
I’ve never seen him have this attitude towards a Marcus Freeman staff before.

Straight up said “it wasn’t mutual” and that Wafle & his parents are upset.

Said the ONLY way it’s justified is if something else comes to light down the road, but doesn’t see that as the case & was told by multiple sources that ND “just likes someone else better.”

Same staff offered, accepted his commitment, sat down with the family in their home, and then pulled it. Same staff.

They must feel very very confident they are landing 2 of Scott, Rushing and TJ Lindsay

Lindsey is out.
Just this week Ryan Roberts talked to him & it seems to be a “fit” problem & ND moved on a while ago.
And Rushing & Scott have nothing to do with Wafle. Different positions & are takes no matter what anyways.
