Well done! but Luke actually had a bunch of good offers. Also, we had really good LB recruiting in 2009 class, probably one of the best ever at ND. It's clear we're struggling a bit with LBs right now in 2024 class.

I hope your wrong.I wouldn't be surprised if ND's strategy was to avoid trying to go toe to toe on NIL and instead invest extra resources into finding the best prospects who aren't on the Georgia/Alabama/OSU radar.
You don’t like being the same 9- or 10-win program that occasionally gets pantsed in the CFP that Notre Dame’s been for years?I hope your wrong.
Me tooI hope your wrong.
I don't think its "either or". We identify players who are good enough to get in school and excel on the field. Then we try to land them. They can be 3 stars (or even conceivably lower) or 5 stars. Every guy is evaluated independent of what other teams do.I wouldn't be surprised if ND's strategy was to avoid trying to go toe to toe on NIL and instead invest extra resources into finding the best prospects who aren't on the Georgia/Alabama/OSU radar.
Why would we go toe-to-toe on NIL for NIL-first recruits? It's a game we can't win, at least with our current approach. I think this cycle probably everyone's more clear about who's really playing that game. Don't bother with them and spend your time on the kids who are playing a longer game. There's enough of those to build a good team, and one with higher odds of sticking around.I wouldn't be surprised if ND's strategy was to avoid trying to go toe to toe on NIL and instead invest extra resources into finding the best prospects who aren't on the Georgia/Alabama/OSU radar.

YesDo you expect more?
Honestly? I don’t know.Do you expect more?
I don’t think they’re trying to avoid it as much as they’re not going to count on adding NIL first prospects to meet base needs. It’s the right approach. Keeps the roster depth where it should be while still playing for the rest.I wouldn't be surprised if ND's strategy was to avoid trying to go toe to toe on NIL and instead invest extra resources into finding the best prospects who aren't on the Georgia/Alabama/OSU radar.
I don't see the problem with this. They learned from the previous cycle and have a better approach this time around for the current one. They've adapted and learned from some mistakes. It's a young staff that was only together for a year. Now they've had additional turnover and you have an entire side of the ball playing a bit of catch up, bringing in new faces to the board, etc.I don’t think they’re trying to avoid it as much as they’re not going to count on adding NIL first prospects to meet base needs. They’re still recruiting Rushing but added Mullins and Young to meet needs.
They’re recruiting Asa and CC. But seem to be looking to take Kahoun, Rezac, or Sullivan as well.
They’re swinging for S’s but the need is so vast they can’t just wait out the top guys. Add 2-3 regardless to meet base needs and keep fighting for the rest.
I don't know, D is in my opinion struggling the most recruiting wise and they're returning the entire defensive staff plus Freeman is obviously a defensive guy.I don't see the problem with this. I don't our number going up the way we are trending right now, most likely lower now. It seems like we're trending for another 10-12 despite a really good start to the 2024 class last year.91.5-92.0 is a reasonable expectation for average 247 recruit rank in the NIL era. Will get us into top 7 in team talent if we get that consistently. QB can then get you over the top.
BK going back down that different aisle

Need to play real well this year and land some top recruits during the season instead of having top recruits decommit during the season.
