Any explanation for his lack of SEC offers? Kind of odd for a kid of his size / speed. Raw / not a lot of WR production probably the answer?
He was a QB mostly last year. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get some SEC offers moving forward.

This is still a big box we need to have checked and quite honestly when it comes to "missing" or "must gets" I'd rather hit on these guys rather than see them go to NU or Stanford.
I'm still completely convinced that the path to a Natty is 80+% RKG model. It's just making sure we get the best of the best RKG's which Kelly didn't always do. And, hitting on the QB position.

He was not a full-time wide receiver last year. Majority of the time, he was a QB. Also played DB.

ND loved him and jumped on him early.

We will look back in about six months and praise Stuckey and Bowden for identifying and targeting Canion early on.

The big boys will come calling.

Then we'll all collectively lose our shit when he decommits for that NIL bag.

Too soon?

Give me the QB above all else, but with everything happening right now, I think having a mid major hoops model of dudes who actually stay in your program and graduate is going to pay dividends down the road if this is the new normal. If a prospect has an offer from ND that is actionable but signs with Northwestern, Stanford, Duke, Vanderbilt and ND legitimately wanted to sign him those sting me as a fan more than the Keeleys and Bowens.

Sure, everyone has the prom queen fantasy, but in the end the cute fit brunette girls lacrosse captain was equal if not more fun and you wound up better off.

Elite QB play changes everything. We’re comparable to the early Clemson dynasty right now in terms of blue chip ratio. Just need a Watson or Lawrence.

Also think those kids are more likely to stick around for three or four seasons. There will be exceptions, obvs, (Buchner), but you need depth and development to actually win at college football. RKGs is how we get that.

This is one of the poorest written articles I've ever read, with the below being one of many examples:

Auburn offered Canion a scholarship. Canion is locked in with the Fighting Irish. Auburn is an intriguing offer four-star wideout.

My guy has never heard of compound sentences.

With that said, feels awfully clickbaity article and seems locked in, but is "considering" OVs per the Auburn site. Probably nothing, may be something. Hang onto your butts.

Yikes. As an English major and former journalist, that hurt me deeply to read.

Won't be pessimistic here unless/until he starts going on visits, but who was the last recruit we landed who also took a hard look at Auburn? The aisles couldn't be more different.

Auburn is 2 hours from his home. Maybe look at it like the hometown school rather than a school the diametrical opposite of ND.
