After overanalyzing brief clips and reading far too much into player/coach media appearances, I'm optimistic about Tyree at Slot. I also think Merriweather has always been the unicorn. He's the best shot we have at a 1st rd WR since Fuller and that will start to show itself this year.

A foursome of Thomas, Merriweather, Tyree, and Colzie can be very good. Mix in the heavy personnel like Evans and Staes (stud). Plus, the RB's. And I think you are getting to a place with some serious firepower on offense.

If I also overanalyzed 30 second clips of Rico Flores every Spring for the last 10 years, I would never think he's a freshman. Therefore, If Rico is your 7th or 8th option in the passing game. That feels like a good place to be in the Spring. By Fall camp one of these Freshman will not be a freshman anymore.

I should add, like all things, a lot of this is predicated on guys getting better. They should get better on their own this offseason and they should get better during Fall Camp. The WR room has bottomed and the 52 week low was missed if you're trying to buy now.
Agree, colzie to me is bigger question than tyree though.

I was pleasantly surprised with Rico's reported weight. He looks so skinny in pictures and on film. After seeing that I felt like he's someone who can step in and be serviceable in a pinch or to spell some breathers.

OSU lost the best WR in the country first game vs us and still had the best passing offense in college and made the CFP, and probably should have been in the championship game.
They've also recruited that position better than any team in the nation for any other position for the past 4-5 years... not exactly apples to apples

Chansi already committing ON THE RECORD that they hit on all three frosh WR’s…

- Rico came in ahead of the curve physically
- Greathouse is a natural rebounder that is going to play the JT “do everything from the slot” role
- James is a 6’2 freak athlete that runs a 4.4 and looks smooth doing it all

So for those of you who didn't watch, the BG draft had several interesting tidbits. Let's start with an overview:
  • Buchner and Hartman were already designated to their respective teams (Buchner - blue, Hartman - gold), DMC will coach the Blue squad, Washington will coach Gold.
  • Seniors like Marist, JD, and Zeke were already designated to squads and weren't included in the draft
  • All the guys who have had injury issues will not be playing including Diggs, Kollie, and Evans. There are several more but they are all guys we knew were never going to be healthy enough to play. Edit: Kizer is also not playing. Not sure what the injury is.
  • Draft selections were first based on position and then a player for that position, teams then alternated picks until each position was filled.
With that out of the way, here are some of the noteworthy picks:
  • Gi'Bran Payne was the first overall selection. The Gold team could have selected any position to start the draft and any player at that position and they picked RB and Payne instead of Estime. (Note: this is probably a case of knowing Estime will probably get a light workload to protect him so going with a guy who will play more makes sense, but still interesting they led off with this pick).
  • Greathouse was the first freshman WR taken ahead of Flores (Merriweather and Thomas were the first 2 selections respectively). James was taken 2nd to last.
  • Mickey was the 2nd CB taken after Morrison. Barnes was taken ahead of Tucker.
  • Amil Wagner was taken ahead of Tosh Baker and 3rd overall at OT (Alt and Fisher were 1st two off the board).
  • Ashton Craig was the first OC/OG taken (the positions seemed to be combined but MF only mentioned the OC position in the video). Schrauth was 2nd. Spindler was the last selected (reminder: Zeke and Kristofic are seniors and already assigned to teams).
  • Styles was in a category by himself - Athlete - and was drafted by the Gold team, so probably a good chance we'll see him play on both offense and defense at some point.
  • Ziegler was the first LB selected ahead of Sneed. Bowen was 3rd ahead of Ausberry and Zinter.
  • Angeli was drafted ahead of Minchey
  • Burnham was selected ahead of Jr. T at Vyper. (Gobaira was picked 3rd and last but the SDE position was never opened because Nana and Javontae JB are seniors and were already assigned to teams, so he was the only end left and assigned by default).
  • Hinish was drafted 2nd at DT ahead of Ehrensberger (Rubio was 1st). Tyson Ford was last behind walk-on Onyiuke.
Here's the full video:

The blue team offense seems stacked compared to the gold team. The gold team has Hartman, defensive teams seem like a wash. Anyone else?

I would need to see the snap count allotment before making that determination. I feel like Gold went with guys that they assume will be allowed to play the full game. Blue has guys that I don't think will. Should be interesting regardless.

I'm excited to see the duo of Sneed and Ausberry at LB on Gold. Really hope those two play together a lot on Saturday. Here's the full rosters

OLine perspective: 14 available choices (Chan out) therefore seven each side. Seniors Correll and Kristofic pre-draft anchors of interiors for both sides. Alt and Fisher first picks as no surprise. Both teams need a second tackle, and Wagner picked ahead of Spindler --- someone here said Spindler picked last, which was not true --- I hate that. If so, it would have meant that an EE had outperformed him. One team badly needed a center and picked Craig. The other wanted high quality and picked Schrauth to big cheers. Wagner also got big cheers. Baker was picked ahead of Carmody who was last in the interior OLine department, while EE Pendleton was last in the Tackle department.

I like Hartman's line more than Buchner's. Alt// Murphy// Correll// Schrauth// Wagner vs Baker// Kristofic// Craig// Coogan// Fisher --- BUT would really like to see them play the game. ... which I won't be able to thanks to NBC.

We have some people on here who understand OLine play --- after you finish the ontime action, could you rewatch it and give me as much a breakdown as you can? I'd REALLY like to hear about how they did.

I'm particularly interested in knowing if Zeke has improved upon his anti-bullrush strength (not to worry about the simple bendback business --- that happened with Mustipher all the time. Sam got to where he would nearly buckle back, but still hold the ground.) Secondly, how does Fisher look? In shape and high energy? Any improvement on quickness vs the speed rush and spin? Are Schrauth's sticky hands as advertised --- like Braxton Cave, does once he get you, you're got? How generally do Kristofic and Wagner look? etc.

Any of that sort of thing will be much appreciated.
