spring ball isn't that important in the scheme of things. It's about evaluating players and their progressions less so about scheme/playbook install
I have to disagree on this. Spring Ball is an incredible time to account for new scheme or playbook install because there is nothing else to get ready for. The last week or two of Fall Camp is getting into opponent specific gameplans. If we are to have both new coordinators, it would be very tough to get scheme and playbook install done in the first part of Fall Camp.

Our QB room will be Hartman, Buchner, Minchey and Carr... With a very good WR/RB/TE/OLine group... There will be OCs lining up the moment Rees leaves

Not to mention all coaches want to coach alongside Freeman right now
isnt it still possible that not one of Hartman, Michey, or Carr ever play for ND?

IMO it’s more likely than not.
Would be incredibly unlikely as multiple ND sites have already speculated that Hartman is locked in with ND regardless. When Carr committed there was a bunch written about Carr knowing that Rees might not be here in two years when he got here.

I guess it's possible with Minchey, but with the correct OC hire I don't see him leaving either.

Considering we still have Buchner, Tommy Rees likely leaving, the possibility of injury, and just normal lack of patience. I thinks it’s more likely that someone leaves eventually without getting a shot. Possibly without ever stepping foot on campus.

One? Definitely. All? Definitely not.

One of them? Sure (probably Minchey or Carr). All three is just being negative.

Overall, the timing of this sucks. I'd think that we're starting spring ball by the end of the month. That gives us what a 3 week window to replace both coordinators going into spring ball? Not very ideal at all for the players or coaches.

Both coordinators? Am I missing something did AL golden leave?

Not worried that much about losing Rees. The offense has been dull and uninspiring lately and there were way too many times than not when we were outplayed in the 2nd half (both sides of the ball actually). With the O-line and TE's we have, there is no excuse to be sub-50th in as many offensive rankings as us. It's always uncomfortable to change things up in the short-term and it stinks to lose a known relationship with players/recruits, but if you hire the right guy this is a win-win in the long-term.

Of course, playing devil's advocate, if the best Saban could do was Reesus, well....what's available???

I think the timing of this is my biggest concern. Not only the timing with regards to the coaching carousel, but also with regards to the roster. Hartman, a 6th year QB with tons of experience, coming in to run Tommy's offense seems like an easy mesh with the time they have. Bringing in a new OC for said QB and the entire offense. A little different. Does a new OC change blocking scheme? Do we get a new OL coach because of this. Just a lot that will be tossed in the air hoping to be juggled appropriately.

If this happened after next season, I'd feel very different about it.

Loy with an update that he thinks Rees leaves. Rees is apparently on his way to South Bend to let everyone know what his intentions are and had the offer before he visited Tuscaloosa. It would include a pay raise from what he's getting from ND.

Didn’t say all, just stating it’s better possibly that someone leaves than none of them.
Your post, in reply to NDDomer's, read as if you were saying it was "more likely than not" that NONE of Hartman, Minchey and Carr would ever play a down for Notre Dame.

But yeah I share your thought that one of the two younger guys probably transfers out at some point. That's a first-world problem though, and would be true no matter who our OC is, given the state of quarterbacking these days.

Apologies, I’m guilty of getting a thought in my head and sometimes it comes out right! Sometimes not. But I agree with your thoughts.
