You mean the same Frank Reich that loved to try and make the D think the Colts were going for it on 4th down? He did it so much any element of surprise was never there. I'm too lazy to see if they even keep that stat, but I would be willing to bet he did it far more often than anyone else.I like Frank Reich. Not surprised at all he's received a second opportunity.
It was the same script as last year’s Bengals/Chiefs games… Chiefs start hot and control the game until just before halftime. The Bengals get a score/stop, then come out in the third quarter and do the same, and suddenly it’s a ballgame.Watching the AFCCG, it seemed to me that the Chiefs controlled the game from start to finish.
Yeah, that's him. Sorry to have touched a nerve there. You mean the same Frank Reich that loved to try and make the D think the Colts were going for it on 4th down? Reich is a nice guy, but he's not HC material IMO.
Not a bad idea at all.I know that having refs is probably like everything else and on high demand. But i wonder if its time to add another official or two.
Still have not seen an explanation on that. It was egregious to say the least. The phantom whistle and the Bengals holding call on 5th down did it for me. Zac Taylor had every right to come unglued.
Even some of the things Bengals players did were odd. Hitting Mahomes 15 yards out of bounce to set them up for a game winning field goal was a new one.

They did show the ref running in and waving his hands before the snap. Guess nobody heard the whistle. Apple did hold the receiver. IMO. Not sure why people expect perfection from the refs when the players and coaches constantly make poor decisions. The phantom whistle and the Bengals holding call on 5th down did it for me. Didn’t like the Bengals clock management at the end. thought they left too much time for the Chiefs.
He’s a receiver. It was a pass play. He wasn’t getting the ball because Apple held him when he was trying to get out of his break. It was a clear hold. The hold happened so far away from the play. I think it should’ve gone uncalled. He wasn’t getting the ball anyway.

I was rooting for the Bengals and can’t stand the Chiefs.
It's past time for this. Long overdue.I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I don't think the fix was in. The Chiefs won because Mahomes did Mahomes things when given the opportunity on money downs.
But the officiating in the NFL is bad lately. It shouldn't affect the outcome of a game to the degree it does, but it feels like those instances are getting more frequent. There were times last night where the head of the crew looked as lost as the replacement refs did back during that disaster of a season.
It's time for full-time, NFL-sponsored officials. Pay them what they deserve, train them, keep them fresh and active and familiar with all the borderline, subjective bullshit teams put them through.
But the NFL won't do it, because that opens them to accountability for the officiating. Right now, with 'independent' officials, they don't have to answer to mistakes or egregious calls/no-calls.
How about the stars of your team getting multi year suspensions when your rival team players do the same shit or worse and barely get multiple games??? That’s always fun and not at all infuriatingWowza - now I remember why I stopped watching the NFL on a regular basis. That officiating was absolutely terrible in both games. It takes a lot of the joy out of watching a wonderful sport. Those refs were worse that ACC refs!
Garrett and Watson.Besides Josh Gordon repeatedly failing drug tests, I don't know who else you mean for the Browns?

Well neither of those were multi-year, that's why I was confused. I mean Myles Garrett tried to kill a dude on the field lol. And Watson shouldn't even be in the league, he should be in prison. I assumed ACamp had different examples.Garrett and Watson.
I think he’s talking about how Aaron Donald did the same thing as Garrett and got no penalty at all.Well neither of those were multi-year, that's why I was confused. Why does everyone hate the Chiefs so much? Especially Mahomes? I’m pretty indifferent on the Chiefs and enjoy watching Mahomes play. He’s not a showboater, doesn’t talk trash, quiet off the field, married his high school sweetheart. Idk just don’t see many reasons to hate him other than him being a really great QB.I can’t stand the Chiefs. It’s pretty crazy how much Mahomes carries that team. I think Philly is better than them across the board, minus QB.
I don't hate the Chiefs either, but I absolutely loathe Brittany Mahomes (wife) and his brother Jackson and their antics. Why does everyone hate the Chiefs so much? Especially Mahomes? Ah I’m not on social media really so I don’t know anything about his wife or brother. I’d much rather have KC be a dynasty than Cincy 😆I don't hate the Chiefs either, but I absolutely loathe Brittany Mahomes (wife) and his brother Jackson and their antics.
I agree with you that Pat seems like a stand up dude, and he's an absolute joy to watch on the field.
I think part of it too for a lot of people is they just like to see dynasties fall. I hated seeing New England in every other SB. In general, fans like parity, and when you have teams like KC making 3/4 SBs, especially with the recent NE dominance still fresh on people's minds, it leads to contempt.
Cincy was also being cocky AF heading into that game; that message from the mayor was dumb as hell.
