final day of classes,…

My school is overwhelmingly Mexican ,… Students didn’t want the final lecture they wanted the game,… so fine. Watch the fuckin game. When Saudi Arabia scored I opened my jacket to show my USA jersey and said, ‘enjoy watching the North American champs on Saturday’.

And that is how my afternoon Wednesday course ended in the fall of 22.

I’m straight giddy,… the Halos in 02 and the Pens winning the cup,… that’s the only other times I’ve felt THIS… if only the Browns or Irish ever win something I may feel it again. What a great 24 hours

Alright, Group E and Group F are finalized today:

10:00 AM games:
Canada vs. Morocco
Croatia vs. Belgium

2:00 PM games:
Costa Rica vs. Germany
Japan vs. Spain

Germany must win and hope that Japan do not beat Spain (they would be level on points with Spain, but would have to make up an 8 goal differential).

I am not totally convinced that Lukaku isn't throwing this match. I've never seen so many missed sitters and unfortunate bounces.

My wife is from Germany and did part of her schooling at Alabama. She takes it personally when I openly root against both. I try to tell her that it’s not personal and I’ve rooted against Bama since I was a kid and Germany started 2 world wars so I can’t get behind them. Women think everything is about them.

I'm part German and I still root against them in men's soccer. Nothing to do with the World Wars, though. It just feels like rooting for The Yankees or Globetrotters or....the Death Star and the Empire? LOL

There are posters on this board, I assume they were born male, that think everything is about them. It is a mindset of today's society that doesn't have a lot to do with gender from what I can tell. When you figure out that there is a center of the universe and you aren't it, the world and life become easier to navigate IMO.

North Dakota is pretty German. Our capital was named after the Iron Chancellor himself. I have an easier time pronouncing the names on their roster than I do our own. They are one of the evil empires of soccer, but they look like my tribe so I cheer for them.

In 1990, I got on the Cameroon bandwagon. Don't have any Cameroon heritage and I sure as shit don't look like any of them, but that team was fun. Really the first World Cup I can recall following.

Won Group B, beat Colombia in the knockout round, lost to England 3-2. Roger Milla had four goals in that tournament.

Honestly, it was probably at the point that I decided to not like them. As a neutral, I was hoping for a good semifinal, and instead got whatever that was.

My mother in law cheers for Germany and I have to see her Saturday. If they don't go through, it just makes for a better weekend.

Which makes it all about me. So there you have that.

I have no issues with Germany, however outside of the USA, I tend to always root for the team who hasn't won the world cup before.

lol,... I remember that game so vividly... I loved it. Germany is the only 'power' I root for EVER and I never root for Brazil. They've won it more than anyone, they perfected the diving/acting game even though they always have enough talent you'd think they wouldn't have to lower themselves to it and the FIFA corruption stuff really started with them....
